// My Story

I am currently a software developer who once modeled and thought I wanted to pursue a career in the fashion industry. While I was modeling in Hong Kong, I eventually felt the desire to further my education. I decided to depart the modeling world and move back to Canada, knowing that could be the end of my modeling opportunities. I attended Ryerson University for GCM (Graphic Communications Management), as I thought I might still work in the fashion industry in another capacity. It was in my last year of university, I was introduced to a very basic coding course. I instantly fell in love. From there I knew I wanted to pursue software development but didn't have a clue where to start. I didn't want to go back to university as I just completed a four-year degree. I decided to enroll in a 10-week intensive coding Bootcamp. From there I started working at a small startup learning and growing my technical and soft skills. I then transitioned to a larger company where I am a software developer and technical consultant today.

    Happy Friday friends! I hope you enjoy catching up (in under 10 minutes) in what has been happening in the world of tech! The Linkedin AI update is pretty cool... will you be using it when job hunting?
  • I'm from Brazil and I really liked this video, thank you for always keeping us informed in this technological world
  • @webdesigntutz
    you should make a video explaining what API all these new overnight AI companies are using
  • @chanchaldas1027
    My friend once said to me that I don't update in the tech field, and that's why I subscribed you. Now, I feel more confident. Thank you❤
  • It's a cool video style, nice to hear the tech highlights. I clicked on it to see how much trouble Amazon is in, and they will probably be fine. But if not then any business which uses AWS in their back ends would need to worry. But it looks like that's not going to be a problem. I don't understand why companies like to use cloud solutions. For the last few decades if you build a system with have an external dependency then that will be the thing that makes your system go wrong. So you have to minimize external dependencies, until "cloud" was a fashionable word. Cloud means getting your servers maintained at minimum cost, which doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I would like to see which company directors have their company cars manufactured at minimum cost, like all the board of directors driving a Dacia, but servers and critical infrastructure is OK at minimum cost. Everyone seems to just be following the trend of cloud this, cloud that, cloud everything. And they all seem to have forgotten that external dependencies can be what gives you nightmares. It would be interesting to see a company that provides cloud solutions like Amazon go bankrupt, or just terminate all their cloud operations. But in this news story that's not going to happen, never mind better luck next time.
  • OK... seriously digging the under 15 minutes Tech News. So many sites and videos are so bloated.
  • @kitcat2449
    Great sum up, I'm excited about ai but also a little concerned how it will change our lives in the future
  • @notme222
    The Amazon thing sounds harmless to me. I know the phrase "extract $1 billion directly from American consumers" sounds dramatic. But they're not "extracting directly". They're offering a product for sale. Pricing calculations are what every seller does. Using machine learning instead of a simpler algorithm is just tech progress, not a brave new world.

    Must be a real explosion in compute demand increase now, will be interesting to see if the data centres will be able to keep up with the demand increase
  • I like this format a lot it’s very entertaining and also informative. Please continue with these Tech round ups. I really like them a lot. Please do some more. Thank you.

    I have question tiff. Not related to this video in particular. I was born in 1992. And am now, 31 yrs old. So, i wonder is it too late for me to enter to tech industry 🤔? Or is it still okay 🤔?
