The idea of forcing State employees to commute to an office location in downtown contradicts the Governor's progressive agenda of leading the State to a carbon neutral economy by adding tens of thousands more carbon spewing automobiles to Sacramento roads and highways, which become nearly grid-locked at the height of 'rush hour' even with thousands of State employees working from home. The infrastructure is also out of date to meet the necessary vehicle parking demands which will only add more road strain, traffic jams and collisions in the downtown area.

That’s why state workers are leaving to go into the private sector for more pay.

😂😂😂 it today's America, the employees are the boss and the boss negotiates on how to make the employees happy... If I were the boss, it would be my way or no pay.

State workers have fought for pay almost equal to private sector. They have great benefits and retirement plans. It will not break their bank accounts to drive in two days a week. They just got spoiled. I went in every day during the pandemic and afterwards until I retired. If they choose to leave that is their prerogative. The state will be able to spend more money for the homeless and illegals give aways.
  • Please stop reporting in your stories that this is a mandate, an order, or directive. It is none of these things. A memo by Anne Patterson was written to other cabinent members. The memo was not signed by Newsom, nor was it addressed to all State Workers. There is already a policy in place - see SAM, section 181 https://www.dgs.ca.gov/Resources/SAM/TOC/100/181. THIS IS THE STATE POLICY. Please ABC10 stop spreading incorrect information, IT IS NOT A DIRECTIVE - PERIOD!! Thank you
