Tornado warning in Franklin and Nash counties, dams break in southern NC

There have been three confirmed tornadoes and 18 tornado warnings in North Carolina since midnight. One person was killed, Wilson County officials confirmed.

Tornado watches remain in effect for central and eastern North Carolina, and flash flood warnings are also in effect across the state. More tornado warnings will be likely into Thursday night.
