American Bulldogs is a broad definition as many people include the “Bully” which is NOT a true AB. I owned a pure breed AB and he was the sweetest and most gentle and loving giant on Earth. COULD he have killed someone? Yes. No doubt. He was 115lbs with a massive head and jaws. But he was never aggressive towards anything other than birds. He really hated birds for some reason. He was my infant son’s best buddy and would stoop low to the ground and turn on his side to let my son crawl over him and pull his ears and yank on his lips. Nearly makes me cry remembering how good he was with him. But, I will also admit there was a time when someone was walking behind our house while my son was playing in the grass and the stranger got way too close (and much closer than necessary), and Zeus roared and scared the guy off. He didn’t bite, but no doubt he would have had the man gotten any closer
  • I have a ball python and he loves to put his face in my face like this gigantic cutie was doing to the little boy! This looks to either be a reticulated Python or a Burmese. They're the puppy dogs of the snake world, but should always be handled with two adults near by at all times because they do like to squeeze. My guy is a mini version kinda. You can get dwarf retics though, my guy is nowhere near near as intelligent. If he had external rests, I'd bet money I could see right through them lol. Not these guys though. They're so smart and inquisitive and just all around lovely. Edit: they bite when I'm good mode. You can learn all about it. You can (and should) actually teach these guys to target train. The kid likely wasn't hospitalized from the bite, although it's possible. What I would bet is that he got wrapped. That's how pythons generally eat and that's how most people die from python attacks. My guy's bit is like being attacked by “angry sandpaper.” Burms and retics bird do hurt but they're not venomous. Most adults can't be killed by one but unhealthy adults, children, and the elderly can.

My dad had a wolf dog that was 99% wolf and he said that he found him in the shelter and he learned how to open doors but he absolutely loved people and other animals he became really close with one of my dads neighbors who was an older gentleman that lost his wife and my dad was gonna surprise him by asking if he would like to keep him because he knew his neighbor absolutely loved him but unfortunately before my dad could surprise him his wolf dog was stolen and he said that he tried his hardest to find him but to no avail

My god, seriously? "Oh, this dog can be aggressive." That can be literally ANY dog. Dog behaviors can be correlated to breed, but a dog being a specific breed will not mean they have those traits. Pitbulls are known for being aggressive, fighting dogs, but every single pitbull I have ever known has been super sweet. But one of my aunts dogs, a smaller breed (can't remember what one) was not trained at all, and ended up killing another dog of a similar size. Any dog can be good or bad. It's a matter of how you train them.

My Grandma's dog was 114 years old.So that record should be to my grandma
  • This kind of video really bothers me. With the correct training, socialisation, genetics and overall temperament of the dog, there is no such thing as an all-aggressive breed. When correctly bred, trained, socialised and with the correct natural temperament, any dog can be a good-natured, well-behaved companion. It’s just that certain ones require more effective training and socialisation than others, and not every dog is for everyone. For example, I love Akitas and wolfdogs, but I understand that they are not recommended for beginners, so, if I had one as my first dog, I would have to do a lot of research first and make sure to find an individual Akita, for example, that would be suitable as a first dog. Although I have never had a dog in my adult life (we did have a labradoodle puppy whom we had to rehome when I was 13), I have done loads and loads of research on dogs in my time, and done work experience at a boarding kennels, a dog daycare, a rescue centre and also walked dogs for another rescue centre.
  • All dogs are potentially dangerous, even those pathetic little yapping things. Some friends recently got an XL Bulldog, to me, it is ugly and is a status dog only. Why people have these types of dogs around children is a worry.
