Can I make Space Hulk for $10? retro warhammer

Published 2022-01-07
Hi, welcome to my third video; in this one, I scratch built, converted and mess around to create a Games Workshop, Warhammer 40k board game Space Hulk. I Got the rules and counters from eBay, I purchased a wooden box to keep around 300 x 230 x 115mm Amazon prices have gone crazy in the UK, but eBay seems half the price. If you use Card and scrap bits, you can make this for $10.

I used MDF movement trays for ease, super fast and consistent. My whole game, including the box and figures, cost me £25.

You can use 6mm to 32mm figures on this board.

Let me know if you want me to build something more 3D and large scales, maybe sidewalls.

A quick google will show you the rules, the mission, and the counters needed to play this game for very little. You will need plenty of cards, wires and drywall tape.

Please like and subscribe. There will be 3 more videos with mini diorama tiles to add to the mission.

Please comment and show me your space

WOW!!! Great project, loved watching it. Inspirational.... cheers
  • The movement trays are such a great idea!!!! I made my own Heroquest back in 2018/19 (before it was reprinted) and spent sooooo long cutting and crafting XPS form tiles for the rooms
  • This is really good, I’ve been looking for a easy way to make tiles. And I never thought of movement trays, this is a great idea

As fans of both Space Hulk and Epic 6mm games, this is terrific to see! Thanks for sharing! ~ Gordon

Portable 6mm spacehulk ! Based on mdf moving trays. Really good idea ! Thanks. Has advised by others, there were some bad choices in your video editing. The most noticeable is the choice if music, especially for a 10sec interlude. And the volume and choice of music compared to the quiet and intimate tone of voice etc. More and better view of the final product.

Nice idea. Were did you get the movement trays from?

It was worth watching just to see you take the mick out of silly thumbnail shots at the end. See you next video!

Great project! I think putting a specific price in the title was a bit deceptive when you're using a UV light and other equipment. Maybe just say "cheap" instead of "10 dollars" or something. Also, your voice was so much quieter than the blaring music that I had to keep turning up and then turning down my volume. Can you make your sound more consistent in future videos?
