First video of 2024! Hope you had a lovely Christmas & New Year. WE'RE BACK.
  • @McLaren
LOU IS NOT FOR SALE. HANDS OFF, TOMMO. 😠

"Lance Stroll: A great driver on his day, but that day doesn't come often enough" is probably the most accurate way I've heard anyone describe him

Personally, I think the smart move for Haas would have been for Gene to stand aside, become a silent owner, and elevate Steiner to CEO. Steiner was more a Zak Brown type leader in the end anyway. Without Steiner I have a hard time seeing Haas picking up sponsors

Williams could have turned out so differently had they made John Williams TP. He had gone to F2 and built a winning team from scratch without help from Williams. He was set to take over but Toto, who was an influential minority investor at that point, blocked his appointment and insisted on Claire. No idea what his agenda was. Bringing in the best F2 TPs should be more frequent. Not necessarily directly into the head role.

I assume we're just gonna omit the "get Adrian" possibility as that would theoretically be everyone's number one goal.
  • @glenrobinson10
McLaren could really do with an elite head of strategy. Hannah Schmitz would be a dream.

Alex is one of my favorite drivers, but he’s still got a lot to prove + he didn’t gel w/an ultra pointy car. He needs to continue to grow w/Williams. Following the Mika formula of growing w/a single team until it gives him a contender = his best chance.

10:58 Renne is honestly one of the best Team Principals in all of motorsport, he’s taken over 40 drivers to championships and won 32 constructors championships since the team was founded in 1983. The only reason I could see him not wanting to leave PREMA is A. The sentimental attachment, and B. The unstoppable success they always achieve year in year out, they entered the WEC back in 2022 and won both the teams and drivers titles in the European Le Mans Series… in their debut season, dipped from the series after winning it and are planning an Indycar team for 2025. As much as Renne is him, I think he’d value winning and continuing probably the most successful racing team in global motorsport instead of becoming Alpine’s next victim

Fernando enjoys being a mentor at this stage in his career. What an opportunity for a team to give a talented prospect a chance to develop. Alonso is famous for his work ethic. Lance the opposite. A waste of an opportunity.

Wolff out Vowels in is absolutely Merc’s plan, it’s just a matter of when. But I hadn’t considered Wolff just moving to a Zak Brown role while Vowels comes in as TP, but I don’t think Vowels would have enough authority in that scenario.
  • @josemonsaji
Haas doesn't have sponsers because Gene doesn't want others having a say in his team. There are reports Ryan Reynolds and that group approached Haas first before going to Alpine, because Gene turned them down.
  • @hamza-chaudhry
Imagine if we get a "Fernando is faster than you" to a Felipe remake 14 years later
  • Finally someone recognises the actual stability and improvement at Ferrari that hasn’t been seen for like a decade. They look good, and have the best trajectory they’ve had. Which of course means they will crash and burn and fuck it all up come race 3. Half joking (I’ve been hurt too many times)
  • @jeroenbons637
You are getting better and better every time. Your verbal skills get stronger, more melodic, better timed, the cadans is catching and you pull your audience along. I’ve noticed that you are the only monologist with whom I am never attempted to step out half way. I do that regularly with Peter Windsor, with Cameron, Alda’s and even Kym Illman who is a sleek a very catching salesman (actually he is a photographer/publicity entrepreneur. So dear Tommo you have come far by just TALKING. 😊Cheerio, Jerome, Amsterdam
  • @enunn2008
I heard Magnussen say in an interview that the wheel guns at Haas are from 2016. I think it's lack of investment, rather than leadership, that's holding them back.
  • @jayscott4990
You’re 1000% right about Mercedes. Toto should focus more on the business end and they have an actual Team Principal. James would be a great fit there!
