The fact that in BW Cynthia's battle theme was raised one note higher. And in B2W2, it's pitch gets raised yet another note higher makes it all the more intimidating.

"Optional battle" We all know that it's an accidental battle on how we like to barge into houses for useful items

I personally stumbled upon her by accident. My battle with her was even more memorable as I came into that game after having beaten platinum a month before, I did what anyone who could did and sent over all my pokemon after beating the game, so my pokemon remain a culmination of my journey across all generations I played, and continue to do so, this created a problem though, I run into her and my first reaction is "Oh no, oh god no" only for her to say my eyes are familiar, making me realize that platinum did indeed happen, I fought her and realized immediately my time paradox causing mistake, I had Giratina Origin form in my party, which I was forced to use. After the battle she said I reminded her of the trainer who faced Giratina, and that line had far more impact for me personally, because I just used the same Giratina that trainer faced against her, because it was me. That was my favorite moment in all of pokemon, and it really made me realize that as the player, you really are an anomaly, having a journey across every region with experience and friends made across many generations.

I feel bad for any unprepared kids that didn't know who Cynthia was at the time and ended up getting steam rolled

She's on vacation, and might be practicing with some of her pokemon that aren't part of her main team, makes sense she doesn't have her "crush all opposition" team on hand.

I remember meeting her thinking, "Oh cool the previous champion." Then remembering, "Oh no, it's the previous champion" once the theme kicked up. Thankfully, I had a few 80s on my team then before facing her, so it was a fairly closer battle than all my previous matches.

One thing you forgot to point out, and the thing I absolutely love about her appearance in gen 5 is the continuity. She's no longer referred to as "Champion Cynthia" but simply "Pokemon Trainer Cynthia" the trainer she was mentioning kicked her ass

The devs giving her braviary and glaceon: we gotta give them a bit of a chance Jokes aside, at least she doesn't battle you automatically upon walking in XD you at least get to prepare

I remember finding Cynthia in B/W the first time: I've never completed D/P/P, but always heard the rumblings about the most feared trainer in Pokemon Cannon. Next thing you know, I'm exploring Undella post game, kicking the dirt and BOOM! I peed my pants, got wiped withing 10 turns and vowed never to walk into that house EVER AGAIN!

Cynthia reminds you the breaking into someone's house without permission is sometimes a bad idea

If BW remakes is a thing, somehow i have a feeling that GameFreak will troll us by placing Cynthia in different place in Undella Town, just to make that nostalgic feeling of terrifying surprise once again 😂
