Tony Hawk Skates First Downward Spiral Loop:
A behind the scenes look at the idea, the build and the stunt.
We talked with Tony about an idea of creating a Helix shaped ramp that could be skated from top to bottom and he was excited but also a little nervous. To make it all the way around and out, he needed a combination of the right speed, centrifugal force and friction to keep him on the vertical wall. Thanks to Sony for funding this dream and the help of Sony Action Cameras to capture the event. Skateboarding is fun.

Getting old sucks. Tony Hawk deserves to skate for all eternity.

Tony Hawk does stuff that's impossible to do in the video games...
  • @braiand_md
Decades later and this guy is still the coolest guy for 2 generations of teenagers
  • One of my favourite things about this video is that he shows himself failing and getting better before succeeding, it's not a video of him just doing it once looking like a pro. Absolutely amazing.

Tony Hawk: "k, get these pads out of here." LEGEND

I love how he's an old man now but he's still tony hawk. So he's still willing to try some crazy shit and pick up a few scars.

Tony is the epitome of not wanting to age and doesn’t want to grow up at all and there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m 34 years old now and I still haven’t found my passion at all this guy clearly knew what he wanted to do in life and so far he succeeded he’s inspired me so much to not give up on something that you love doing I was 10 years old watching and pull off the 900 and to this day I’ve always been inspired by Tony

At 13, I shattered a kneecap as one of the first Extreme bicycle trickers. I've had to live vicariously for decades thanks to that. Tony is a HERO for even still being able to walk, IMO! Dayum, dude, the damage!

Wishing Tony a speedy and full recovery from his recent leg injury!! Tony is one dedicated, tough hombre!!! Hats off to this LEGEND!!

for how old this guy is and how many injuries he's had. It's amazing he can still do this, yall have no idea how risky his stunts were when he was younger. Tony Hawk was the reason this sport remained relevant for as long as it did and its very easy to see why.

This guys gonna be able to still do a kick flip when he’s 100
  • @jedidr4918
People say knee and elbow pads while skating is dumb, tell that to Tony Hawk.
  • @chenrayen
To me a huge part of what makes Tony Hawk cool is how much he puts himself through to do tricks and stunts. You see the anxiety, you see the pain, you see the self-doubt; and time after time he pushes himself to continue

What else can I say about this guy. He was and still is one of my favorite skateboarders. The tricks he does at his age is just mind blowing. My hat is off to you Tony Hawk and I have seen this video at least a dozen times. All I have to say is you are a LEGEND.
  • bro tony hawk is a legend you dont just learn instantly, he puts hours, days, months, years AND EVEN DECADES to do insane things
