I love how all the other elephants crowd around encouraging and protecting

I love the support and protection from the other moms

It amazes me how the other elephants make a circle around the baby, making sure no harm comes to the baby. I love elephants 😊

When my husband and I stayed at Mara Plains in February, we JUST missed the birth of a Buffalo calf. Our driver, guide, best friend for 5 days, Jackson said the baby was no more than 20 minutes old. We saw his first suckle, and first tiny wabbly steps!!! What a privilege, and honor to see this miracle of life, in the greatest wilderness on EARTH 🌍 We're trying desperately to come back and stay at Mara Nyika, but sadly it will be a few years for us to save for that. 😢 We are so grateful and humbled by the time we were able to be in that majestic wilderness!!! Thank you Great Plains, for the amazing work you continue to do!! And CONGRATULATIONS MAMA ELEPHANT from Michigan USA

Why didn't the people move away? It's obviously stressing the mother and herd.
