Soooo excited for this new series on FINISHES, starting with one of my FAV topics, all things TILE!!!! ❤️❤️Be sure and let me know in the comments below what finish you'd like to learn most about next... is it flooring, specialty walls, or even more about painting? Can't WAIT to hear from you!!!😘
  • As a geologist, I always recommend marble-pattern porcelain tiles instead of real marble, which is soft, porous, and chemically reactive. It can’t be cleaned aggressively and shows every scratch, etch and stain. High-quality porcelain “marble” tiles are nearly indistinguishable from natural marble nowadays, so the look is just as good, but they are so much more durable and stay good-looking for decades.

I put full face make-up on for this week’s episode. Wine, of course, has become standard.

Congrats on doing paid advertisement in a meaningful and non-annoying manner. Your enthusiasm for the product is obviously genuine. You get a 👍😉 I wish more people were as selective about how they do paid advertisement on their channels.

I LOVED that history lesson at the beginning! So interesting ✨

Never knew about cement tile. Now I am into cement tiles, they are so beautiful!!! I bought my first house this past year and it it covered in carpet. My goal is to rip it all out and put tile! I am so glad I got to see this video before doing anything. ❤️ thanks 🤩

I love that you’re doing this series on finishes! Thank you Lisa. Two smiley faces, three hearts and one kissy-face for this video!
  • @go2therock
My hands actually flew up to my mouth when you held up that gold dragonfly on black! Oh. My. Goodness.
  • @paintingmonkey
Great video! When I think of tile over history, the most spectacular examples that come to mind are the exquisite geometric mosaics you see in those incredible grand mosques, all over the walls, arching up into the ceilings... just beautiful!
  • That tip about the 1/16th grout line for continuous look is amazing! Redoing my tile in bathroom this fall so will be playing this on repeat. Thank you!
  • 😂 We just purchased tile for our new home and I repeated to my hubs, “We don’t want glossy tile on the floors.” I showed him your video as support. Thanks Lisa for another great informative video!! 😀
  • Hey Lisa, you rock!! Thank you for the fab history lesson & for your love of our tiles - it truly means the world! ❤️❤️
  • Hi Lisa. Thank you so much for the awesome tile lesson. I so appreciate all of your professional expertise and love your enthusiasm. I loved your comment on 'badgering your tile installer' to have tiny grout lines installed. Perhaps in a future series you might share your tips and experience in dealing with 'the trades'. The average homeowner simply does not know how to deal with painters, tilers, wallpaper installers, finish carpenters, flooring installers etc. I'm not saying 'the trades' will take advantage of inexperienced homeowners but if you don't know the right questions to ask or have some knowledge on how to get what you want or what to look out for, "the trades" may take advantage. Of course, that is why designers should be involved!! Love your channel and congratulations on over 200,000 subscribers!

  • @lorirene
I just installed “Lili” tile as a backsplash accent above my range, beautiful! They were so helpful, and it arrived on time, really well packaged…love them
  • You’re just amazing! 🤩Honestly listening to you is like doing a course in 30 minutes! I have a kitchen and bathroom update that’s happening and I finally know what I want. I am a mid century modern/Scandinavian kind of gal. I never knew what to call it until now. Thank you 🙏🏼😘
  • @missymiss2357
Really important factor in tile selection not mentioned is exposure: Will tiles be exposed to pressure, damaging forces or weights, caustic substances, water/moisture, etc.
  • @jillpannill2578
Wow! Love the advice. Thanks Lisa. Just finished my dream bathroom with white scallop/mermaid style tile. I went nuts! You and that British reality tv show, Masters of Interior Design inspired me!!!!
  • @DellisinbigD
