I'm so sick and tired of the $50,000-$100,000 off-road vehicles.

I've been saying it for ages! The Liberty is the perfect minimalist off-road vehicle for the person who wants something with good capability and isn't too old. There really is nothing better for the money.
  • My buddy had a maroon one of these with a small lift and 31” tires. I saw him hit some hard trails and it performed pretty damn well. We all gave him shit for driving it but it actually was a pretty cool looking and comfortable jeep. I would never knock it if I saw one on a trail.

I actually owned a 2011 Liberty. I loved it. I lifted it 3 inches with an Old Man Emu kit. I had a custom front winch bumper with a 10k winch. It had 33's, full skids, and rock sliders. It was a UNIT! The factory break assisted "lockers" worked pretty much flawlessly. Yes the mileage sucked dirt, especially after the lift and larger tires, but o loves every second of it.

This is the content I like. Just like you did before. I sure miss Gold Mine Hill and snow wheeling and getting stuck 😉

Finally!!! I've been waiting for another fun TFL series. I can watch product rollout infomercials anywhere on YouTube, but these cheap-jeep type shows are super-entertaining and something better than the other YouTube auto channels produce. ("Tommy disagreeing with Roman" videos are also quite satisfying IMHO)

We own an '08 KK...its my daughters high school & college car. We've owned it for 10 years now and been very happy with its reliability. She has 225,000 miles on it and it just keeps going, its been an excellent vehicle. Terrible mpg, but great in the snow etc. I have to say, that having owned 2 Commanders now and 1 Liberty, both models have been extremely reliable. I have far more repair expense into my 2012 FJ Cruiser than I have in all of the repairs to the Commanders & Liberty combined.

Nathan and Roman interviewed me on TFL Now back at EJS 2017 or 18 with my lifted 2011 Liberty. My wife and I loved that Jeep and are looking to get another one. It was a great trail rig. Mark Allen (head of Jeep design at the time) even came over and checked out our KK. He was such a cool dude and it was surreal to have him complimenting and checking out my Jeep. Anyway I can't wait to see more :)

I loved my 08 Liberty sport. After market suspension lift by JBA with full armor underneath. 255-70-16s ATs. I never worried about mild trail rides. Engine was OK at best. Sunroof leaked like a sieve. HA! But it was a fun vehicle. My son was in a major traffic accident with it but walked away without a scratch on him. The 4000lbs JEEP served its purpose and kept him safe. Thanks for the content! Love it.

Love these revisit of older off orad trucks. Please keep this up. Maybe car companies can realize that every single new car does not need 10,000 computers and sensors that will break and need to be reprogrammed

I'm glad you're doing something with the liberty! I was just given an 08 liberty with 233k miles. I have to do some minor work on it but for a free offroader to beat up in the mountains I can't complain. Looking forward to the short series.

I always said people were too hard on the liberty. I had an 06 and an 08. I really loved the 06 off road. I took it all over rampart range and Colorado Passes. I put a lot of miles on both Liberties and never really had any major issues. As a young military kid for 10k I really got my money out of it. Now days they are a true 4x4 SUV with a real frame that will do the majority of trails bone stock. I totally agree. Bout time they got some off road love with all these pretend SUVs we have now.
  • @arlenenolte8475
My first SUV was a 1st edition Liberty, I loved that thing. They are super capable!
  • @rockymountboy
One of these joined my group on a Jeep jamboree trail. Completely stock, including the factory street tires. Went everywhere the rest of us did, just struggled a bit more and took a little longer, mostly due to the tires and ground clearance.
  • The Steelies and the Off-Road tires ELEVATE the looks of this JEEP TREMENDOUSLY!
  • @DefiantOffroad
Many of those older non-Wrangler Jeeps have serious "bang for the buck" points, and are far more capable than most give them credit for. The WJ platform in particular. 😀
  • @peterchen9763
I had a 2007 KJ Liberty for 10 years and it was great. It handled the worst snow storms Northern New York threw at it, and it never got stuck. The engine was a very old design so not great on mpg, but gave me zero trouble. The biggest troubles I had was I went through 5 window regulators during those 10 years. I had the first 3 regulators replaced for free by Carmax, and for a $15,000 vehicle I am not complaining.
  • @Wilbur89
I love that TFL does this type of video! Nothing better than running a trail like that and not worrying about it getting scratched or screwing it up! Thanks guys!!
  • @PakmanR3
Love these used average priced car videos! Keep doing these please 🙏
  • I have a 08 liberty sport that I got for 4,000. I did a bumper trim as only mod. Has gotten me to places many “offroad” vehicles have a hard time going. This IS a mini wrangler for sure and would love to see it back ❤
