People need to realise that not everyone with OCD has a fear of germs only. It can manifest itself in many ways. Everyone is different. The fact that his room is messy is irrelevant and rather an ignorant comment. Do your research before leaving comments like that.

For the people saying that for a person with OCD his room is really messy, there are different types of OCD, you don't have to have anxiety about a messy room to have OCD.

Anyone here with OCD I am terribly sorry. I have been diagnosed with it for 5 years and have been on 4 different medications with 4 different therapists. People don't know what it's like to actually suffer in this world. They worry about stuff that goes on around them but nothing near what we suffer with
  • does anyone else have that annoying trait where they touch something and it just feels...wrong?? so you keep touching it again until it feels right? And when you can't touch it again it just makes you crazy? :( If I can't touch that certain thing again I start pulling at my hand and rubbing them to help the sort of "pain"

I have obsessive compulsive disorder too. I have too tap something three or more times, and if I don't I think something bad will happen. It's horrible
  • Thank you for sharing, I have OCD too in the form of checking and I was thinking about making a similar video and wanted to see what other people had already made. I was stoked to hear a motion city cover playing in the background because I can highly relate to that band and that song. Right before I posted this comment I was playing their songs on the drums.

Thanks for this video. I know just how you feel but seeing someone else's journey tells a different story. Much love and good luck in recovery whenever or however it may be.

Thank you for bringing more attention to OCD. It's very important to keep talking about it so people understand how serious it is and that it's not only about cleaning or organizing. It's a very serious mental condition that can take over teh person's life. Thank  you for helping bring awareness.
  • I'll go ahead and make this comment 777. This takes a lot of courage to post, and you should be proud of yourself. Having anxiety myself, I struggle telling others, in fact I fear people judging me for being scared. Life with anxiety disorders is not easy, and it takes guts to spread awareness. Bravo, sir!

I hate when people leave cabinets and drawers open.

I have COD as well. Although I don't have the same symptoms it can still be quite bothersome. And disruptive as well. I've only known about my OCD since 2009 or 2010. So it's still fairly new to me. Some of my symptoms include compulsive hand washing and bathing, compulsively cleaning my home. Every thing has to be just right or I go nutsoid. Especially in my kitchen. Do not let me catch you putting things in the wrong place or the wrong order. I may well go postal if I do catch you. I do have times where it is not nearly as bad. But it is always there. And it gets worse when I'm under stress and feeling really scared. I'm really glad I watched your video. It was really good and I really identified with it. What l really liked the end because it showed that you have hope, and hope is so important. I hope to see more of your videos because they are really good. Thank you. Jude

Great video man. I live day in and day out with this torturous OCD. It weighs me down tremendously but I try and keep pushing. It's just always nice, and reassuring, that I'm not alone in this battle.

You are an impressive young man, Eric. And you have a fabulous attitude. The world is your oyster.

I've gone a long time learning about different things and gaining awareness about issues such as OCD, because I hope to help people who are struggling with it. Little did I recognize that after all of the times I've gotten in trouble for being "unorganized" , rushing (after spending obscene amounts of time in the mirrow changing clothes) that I struggle with OCD as well. Thanks for this video, I see alot myself in it.
  • I just wanted to say that I found your video both extremely interesting and inspirational! I was diagnosed with mild OCD a few months ago so I know somewhat of what you are going through on an every day basis. My OCD have more to do with social interaction instead of environmental interaction. I have extreme trouble making/keeping friends and maintaining a relationship with a guy just because I also find something about them that drives me crazy. Just remember you are never alone!
