I have a funny story about him. I lived in So Cal and remember watching him on TBN and he mentioned his number was listed. I decided to call as I wanted to attend his church in Pacoima. I ended up speaking to his sister Sandra. My friend and I went to his church and after service I introduced myself. He asked how I got his phone number and I told him, you said you were listed on TBN. He and his sister started laughing. I then got to share with Sandra how the song she sang, "Take Me Back" was my favorite song, she honestly was really happy and humbled to hear this. Also the church is mainly Black and I'm white. The people were BEYOND loving and kind. I was completely comfortable there and loved it. So glad I got to meet Andrea and Sandra.

I was so honored to have chatted with his mother on the phone. He will always be my favorite Gospel singer.

I was at a Jesus Festival in 1978 or 1979 in Orlando, FL and Andre and Sandra were there performing. We had a friend whose birthday was on that day. We went to the back of the stage and asked if Andre could come sing Happy Birthday to her as a surprise. He did!!! and when we brought Mardy out and Andre started singing, Mardy screamed and almost fainted. . . Andre, ever cool, finished singing to her. He was so wonderful. I'll never forget him and I too can't wait to see him in Heaven.

His mission is completed, now he's resting peacefully in the Arms of our risen Savior!!!
  • My Mentor via Proxy! Like him I never studied music, never went to Music School but I sing, play, write and produce. All glory to God. I love both him and his Sister.
