    1. Avoids eye contact/leaves room when you come in. 2. Flicking their tail because they're annoyed by your presence. 3. Excessive scratching. 4. Litter box issues: go outside it to do their business. 5. Hiding frequently. 6. Lack of response to affectionate gestures.

my cat only does the slow blink at my dog. The dog rescued him as a tiny kitten and brought him to me.

I slow blinked at my cat and she ran and jumped into my arms! ❤❤❤❤❤

Cats are amazing. When I was a kid, my family had a female calico. I grew up in a house with a dad who was violent toward my mom and one day I was crying because the dysfunction affected me a lot. Our cat looked at me and rushed over like she knew I was sad and wanted to comfort me. I will always remember that.

I had a cat that would NEVER use a litterbox, even if alone in the house all day. I don't know why, but it was nice that I never had to clean his litterbox. He would only go outside. He would stand by the door and meow to be let out, and 5-10 min later would meow to come back in. Staying away more than 20 min was very rare.
  • We once had an awesome cat that only “attacked” his own old chair in the corner of the den (especially during his evening mad minute). He never scratched any other piece of furniture or drapes. He was a great cat, he adopted me one night while I was making a deposit for my job. I left the car door open while I went to the drop off chute. After I got back in my car to leave I noticed a very young cat sitting up in the middle of the back seat with a look that said “take me home, Jeeves”.

I've been fortunate enough to love cats and be loved by cats since I was a toddler. Myself at 2 years grabbed the neighborhood cat in a hug. The cat just waited to slide out of my arms and just looked at me. My grandma who was watching, said I looked down and the cat blinked, put her head to mine and just waited. Apparently I just put my forehead to hers and the cat was just patient with me while I tried to pet her. That's pretty much been the tone of my life whenever I encounter cats.

I love that this video talked about causes, solutions, and overall cat health versus just the cat hate.
  • My-year-old cat slaps me in the face with her tail for attention when I'm reading or on the phone. She has this impish look on her face when I pretend to be indignant. I'll move away a bit and she'll readjust her aim and smack me again! She gets my attention and that leads to me usually initiating a full-on play session. I've no doubt she loves me! I'm the only human she's ever interacted with except at the vets' office. She purrs, gives nose kisses and initiates cuddles a lot and kneads my stomach or thigh when we're getting ready to go to sleep. She's learned not to scratch me or the furniture and no longer tears up or knocks things over intentionally. She still loves climbing up high and hiding in weird places and jumping out to scare me. She was appatently an orphaned feral kitten that my 17 y.o. fixed toms found somehow out here in the country and broight her to me to raise when she was just 10 weeks old. They are devoted to her and she to them. She gave them a new lease on life and they've tried to protect her and teach her cat skills. ❤
  • Our cat will outright slowly swish his tail from side to side when you speak to him. He doesn’t do it for no reason either. He does this for attention, because it’s often accompanied by him meowing and marching around. He seems to really love verbal praise, not just physical touch. If you either don’t give him attention or stop giving him attention, he will turn and look at you and start meowing again. Yes, my cat is a literal prima donna who knows how cute he is, and knows how to use it to his advantage.

Also play with your cat. Cats need play as much as cuddles. To them, playing together is showing affection.
  • When he got old, my cat would get stuck clawing the sofa, he'd then miaow as a way to ask me to help him. He'd always be really calm, letting me hold him as I lifted his paws/claws out of the fabric.

😻Very cute! Im a vet assistant, here’s a few friendly suggestions: cut back on dry cat food. Over time, it can cause urinary blockage, especially for males. Try upgrading to ‘Purina One’ canned & dry cat food, ‘Hills Science Diet’ is good too. ‘Indoor’ labeled cat foods are lower calories. Keep your cat Indoors, protect them from traffic and Predators and traffic. Especially around night Have an older kitty? bring it in for a ‘Senior Blood Panel’, you’ll see possible health concerns, while it’s early. 🐱 🐾

I NEVER doubted my cat loved me! If I were relaxing,my cat would jump into my lap, and be a' blanket', then lick my face from forehead to bottom lip to chin, look at me with absolute adoration, killed mice, and insects, and this was every time I sat cat was on my lap, purring. He'd roll over to get his belly 'scratched', and was so pliable I saw a claw that was loose so I said Could I remove the claw that's loose? He did nothing, as I gently removed the loose claw, and licked my hand ti say thank you!

I have a cat that my Aunt raised from a kitten with an adult dog. When the cat is excited, or being given positive attention, she wags her tail rapidly like her doggy mom. So not all tail twitching is necessarily negative.

My cat definitely did not love me when she tried OFTEN to trip me at the top of my stairs… now she’s stopped doing that I’m starting to believe she’s started to love me 😂
  • Our boy stairs so intently at me and into my eyes so intensely...if I were less knowledgeable about cats, I would think he's plotting my demise. ❤️ 🐈
