Gary Holt is seriously the most humble and down to Earth guitarist on the planet.
  • I didn't know Kirk Hammett taught him how to play. That's incredible.
  • Aside from being a metal Legend he is such a cool and relaxed dude. Could sit and watch Holts interviews all day.

My daughter and I saw Slayer just last night. Gary tossed her a guitar pick and now her life is complete!

He's so polite and there's no ego while he said that Kirk taught him guitar! 🤘🏻
  • When Holt became a Slayer member I was really sad, I didn't know the guy and it felt like Slayer had Hanneman replaced. With the years I started appreciating Holt more and more...without him Slayer couldn't continue, and as a fan I feel like that's what metal's about.

The first sentence should be: This is Gary Holt from Exodus and Slayer. Period.
  • TRUE STORY: When I was in the Air Force I went to a mall in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and they had a music store with nothing but bootleg cassette tapes. LOL I saw Exodus 'Bonded By Blood', and I shit you not, because of the super-strict Muslim laws over there regarding showing of the body, the 2 babies on the cover of the album had clothes literally drawn on them with a marker!!! It was hilarious! It was crazy - if there was still room left on the tape, they would just throw some other random band on there to fill it up...

Gary is truly an awesome guy!! Very talented and humble, always!!
  • Most honest, real and down to life interview Gary gives. You can tell he replies with nothing but honesty and just look on his face. Honestly rules and and in-depth responses is an awesome factor! Good Interview!!
  • I met Gary in 89 on the Mtv Headbangers ball tour. I met a really cool Navajo who got me stoned then we played stickball with Exodus, anthrax and helloween at the Utah State Fair park. One of the best days of my life!!!

That was very interesting. I saw Exodus at one of their first shows and then went into the service. I heard they had done well but I had no idea about their history since 79

Varg Vikernes or Glen Benton next?

The most Underrated Metal Guitarist of all time. Gary Holt blows my mind. He's such an amazing Riff God. This interview reveals how humble he is. Fuck this guy is awesome. I hope he keeps melting faces with the riff's he writes with Exodus. It's no wonder Slayer chose him to step in.

Impeccable and discipline player yet so laid back dude!

"And there will always be." I love when he said that. That's a metal brother right there.
