I hope the show covers more of the cobblepot history in gotham and how the penguins family were rivals or peers to the Wayne family.

Colin looked like Robert DeNiro playing Al Capone in The Untouchables. A little bit of copycat in my opinion but I thought he was excellent in the role.

Gotham season 1 about Penguins backstory was pretty good (later the series completely derailed) so I guess this might be cool too

As long as they get batman done right then that would be awesome. Mob movies have been done since forever, the trick is to have a batman that shines but doesnt take away from the mob's spotlight.

Season 1 of Gotham is quite good it’s quite goofy and has elements of the campy side of Batman but it shows the penguins rise in the underworld and other mob figures and even a mob war breaking out in the finale I actually thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was. The later seasons lean fully into the more campy and silly elements of Batman though and while most probably prefer that I liked the kind of balance before

I think that it's asking a lot from Hollywood these days that anything turns out watchable, let alone good. But I liked the movie, so I'll give it a shot.
