Suit up for classic comedy! Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) take a chance on going freelance, de-haunting houses in a new ghost removal service. As soon as they open their doors, their first order of business becomes saving beautiful cellist Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) and nerdy Louis Tully (Rick Moranis), who’ve inadvertently opened the gates of hell… right in their own apartment building!

Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), (Egon Spengler) Harold Ramis, and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) take up their proton packs once more to battle the forces of evil in Manhattan! After waging a war on slime that cost New York City millions, the Ghostbusters find themselves out of business until an ancient tyrant, preparing a return to the Earthly domain through his portrait at the Manhattan Museum of Modern Art, sets his sights on Dana Barrett's baby as the new home for his wicked soul! With the help of the Museum's possessed curator, he plans to turn New York into a really scary place to live! Now only the Ghostbusters can save New York City, by turning paranormal pest control into an art form!

So for those wondering about Slimers backstory-He was never a person. The Cult of Gozer tried to summon a spirit to use as a weapon in the 1920's-but ended up accidently creating a ectoplasmic being of pure gluttony with a never ending hunger, the slimer we all know and love

"the FLOWERS are STILL STANDING." Most underrated Peter quote ever.

I was really happy to see Slimer's return in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. And the best part of it is that practical effects had once again been used for Slimer, and he looked like how he had appeared in the 1984 film.
  • Slimer’s not evil, and he’s completely harmless. He just has an endless appetite.

I love how Louis just gets in the bus casually and his only comment is “I didn’t know you had your license”
  • @remongum
I love the part when egon just goes "I looked into the trap ray"

The eating noises that slimer makes is hilarious and beautifully sounded.😂

I know the special effects for Slimer were expensive back in the day but I’m glad the producers had him helping Rick Moranis’ character with the bus ride. I hope Slimer helps the new Ghostbusters in Frozen Empire again.

I wish we'd seen the Ghostbusters interact with Slimer in the second film. Show Egon studying him whilst keeping him docile with food etc.

"It's right here, Ray. It's looking at me." 😂 - I have always loved the way Bill Murray says that line.

Underrated line: "Venkman, shorten your stream, I don't want my face burned off." It lends to the reality of GB1, showing how these characters are normal people who are flawed, clumsy and fumble around with new technology. It avoids a "Mary Sue"-style characterization where characters just zip through the movie with perfect skill and never encounter obstacles.

I love it when Slimer actually got a movie credit in Ghostbusters II!!!
  • I love how Slimer drinks a bottle of wine and it pours out of him onto the table.

Slimer is like a ghost with a dog like nature, cute, sometimes slimy and ugly, simple, fun, stinky, friendly......but my god they are a good thing to have around
  • I heard Harold Ramis and Dan Akyroyd said Slimer is the spirit of John Belushi! And I always go with that! 😁

Looking back at Ghostbusters ll, the production team definitely added in some elements from the cartoon. -Helpful Bus Driver Slimer -Egon’s pompadour -Janine’s look -Winston no longer having his mustache -The lighter tone

Whether as a mischievous ghost like the rest or a friend to the Ghostbusters, either way, there is no doubt that Slimer would still be a fan-favorite ghost to this day.
