Botani vs the Scourge. Unstoppable tide of life vs unending tide of unlife. Aaaaaand go!

I think it's pretty clear that they are establishing that all six of the primal forces need to be in balance for things to be OK. I mean, it's pretty easy to see that a world with Death, Disorder, or Void ascendant is pretty bad. And you can easily imagine the problems of Order ascendant – you'd have a world of stasis, where nothing ever changes. But it's easy to think that a world of Life would be pretty neat. I mean, we're life, right? The Everbloom and Ulderoth shows that that's not true. And while we haven't seen Light ascendant, I think the whole bit with Xe'ra and Illidan shows that it would not be all that pleasant.

Have we all forgotten about the the Botani and Saberon that managed to use the portal to escape Draenor seen running away into Northern Barrens after the Mag'har Orc Allied Race quest?
  • @Scribby87
Ulderoth gives me Zerus vibes. The natural Zerg homeworld from Starcraft. A world teaming with untamed life where survival of the fittest was taken to the extreme.
  • @aster4jaden
Given how much we've seen Nature get abused in WoW such as corruption by Fel and the Emerald Nightmare, i'm all for seeing Life strike back with vengeance.

Another Azeroth ending threat??? (Stares in surprised pikachu face)
  • These generaurs/botani came to azeroth with mag'har orcs from AU draenor when they came to durotar through that giant teleport during BFA and espaced to wilderness and because of game restrictions it looks like it was only few mag'har and others who were transferred but somewhere it was stated that blizz doesn't have exact numbers but a significant fighting force arrived (mag'har)

Dont forget about the one Saberon and One Botani that came back through the portal with us and immediately disappeared.
  • @mebrandonb
We saw a Genesaur in Legion too! In the Antorus Eonar boss fight there's one wandering around below us.
  • @Silvercoat
I wonder if the Annihilan (Pit Lords) are just demon tainted Genesaurs. Their models are very close to each other.

Man a cool Caverns of Time Dungeons could have been us dealing with the infinities on some alt timeline azeroth where the botani got loose and became an unchecked problem.
  • @dododog5002
You realise the life spores are the curse of flesh, literally turning stone to flesh
  • @reptilizer
How does Bellular or any of the script writers not know of the massive Genesaur walking at the bottom of the Elunarian Sanctuary (on Elunaria, supposed home of Eonar) inside of Antorus, The Burning Throne raid from Legion patch 7.3? Feels like a thread almost criminally negligent to miss.
  • It certainly would be a major problem if the Botani that escaped through the portal to the Barrens, managed to take hold in the Stagnant Oasis or the Overgrowth. By the time it is noticed, I imagine the whole of the Barrens would be changed to something as lush as Stranglethorn Vale.
  • @exxor9108
The orcs have their own origin story that tells a different story, but comes to the same conclusion. The orcs have their own curse of flesh that came from the sporemound Botan. Quite interesting!

The backlore from Draenor in the second Chronicle book was easily one of the best stuff they added. Great stuff.
  • @TheKrenk999
The thing is, that the Chronicles are HEAVILY biased due to their author, Odyn, being a complete and utter bell-end of a bastard. Odds are, Draenor may not have been at risk of collapse, Aggramar just saw a world overflowing with a rival Power, Life, and created a servant to fight it back, catalogue the world and buy time until the Titans could send suitable servants to the world to reshape and 'perfect' it, but that got derailed when Sargeras drank the Fel Kool-Aid. Consider that Grond looked nothing like a normal Titanic servant, being far more brutal and savage-looking, probably because he was a rush-job.
