  • This video has the vibe of the vhs tapes your teacher would put on, yet it was made 2 weeks ago! just needs a little PBS bumper before the intro lol

The engineering, design and construction of these monster engines never ceases to amaze me. The drivetrain is just so amazing to watch

I never would've believed, that I would see a BigBoy operate during my generation. JUST INCREDIBLE!
  • @MatildaMk2
I can't believe I fell asleep to one video, slept straight through another and continued through this

I got to see 4014 myself just months after this filmed. Sure was a great day. Even got to talk with Ed Dickens who answered my question on 844 and signed my 4014 hat.
  • Young ot old you can still watch it beginning to end thank you union pacific 🙏!!!

The steam event of the century. The hype during this was so real.
  • @bobkohl6779
Used to look at 4014 sitting in Pamona wondering if it was just going to rot away
  • @hikerdude5265
Pinnacle of American ingenuity! The Big Boy can pull at least the same as 4 diesels and do the same job with class. It looks and sounds alive; how could you not love it! Bless the 4014!

4014's 1st run as an oil burner. He borrows 3985's tender for few trips.

Union Pacific 4014 is a great interesting locomotive that he draws crowds where every the true king of the railroad he is a majestic beast and he is capable of pulling a 650 car freight train and he is one of the most famous locomotives ever invented by man
  • I love the Union Pacific Big Boys, when I first saw the Big Boy No. 4014 he is the bestest and coolest Locomotive in the world! Long live the Last of the Giants!
  • @heyitsvos
Let's all just appreciate the dedication, time, and money this dude put in to capturing all this footage 🙏🏾
  • Got to see 4014 3 times since his restoration. The third time though had to have been my favorite, because when the Big Boy came to Denver Union Station in 2022, a late running California Zephyr arrived next to the big boy at Denver, giving me the opportunity to see a steam powered train, a diesel powered train, and electric powered train(s) all in one setting.
  • @jlurenzjr
Absolutely magnificent! This was so awesome that Union Pacific did this. The amount of money spent was enormous so I wanna thank a great American company for all they do!

I knew they were BIG, but you can't feel it till you see it for real. First time I saw it, I felt it first. The ground was shaking as soon as it pulled out of the station in Cheyenne. I was down near the C&S overpass. Just chills and goose bumps when Ed let go on the whistle for the upcoming crossing.
  • I’ve always loved trains, especially the big and strong ones. Therefore, Big Boy is my favorite. Glad to see him restored and Choo Chooing today! He’s the king of the railroad.
  • I have seen Big Boy UP 4014 two years ago at Jolesburg, CO and Ogallala, Nebraska.
