Rising Appalachia - Harmonize (Official Music Video)

If only every man coming into himself could be surrounded by teachers and loved ones in an environment like the one shown in this video. I'm only 23 but this piece has me feeling nostalgic for when I was 18 and hitched from the east coast to the west and eventually settled into this incredible community of food growers, herbalists, and self doers in the foothills of Southern Oregon that took me under their wing and totally changed the course of my life with patient passing of wisdom and skills and providing space for me to find my own path into my manhood while presenting the perfect balance of challenges and support. What a different world we would have if all boys became men in this way. Aho!

It's not surprising that music issued forth from Appalachia, one of the last strongholds of nature in the East, resonates so strongly here in the PNW. I'm from Maryland, now living in Central Oregon and the number of people who have arrived here from the east coast is astounding. I believe there is a unconscious movement afoot, a migration of newly awoken spirits of all ages moving away from the negativity and chaos that permeates places where the folly of mankind has obliterated the peaceful path, to the PNW where they can stand amidst the silent wisdom of the natural world, spread their arms wide and realize the potential of their better nature.

Literally every time I listen to these talented women, it brings me back down to earth and sets my spirit right and this was absolutely no exception. Love this!!
