Should you wait to buy a new 2021 television? Or just go with an older 2020 model? When is the best time of the year to buy a new TV? We answer these questions by going through some price history charts of popular 2020 TVs (LG CX, Samsung Q90T & Sony XH90/ X900H) from UK price comparison site PriceSpy.co.uk to arrive at a proven formula.

We also outline which 2021 televisions from 5 major TV brands (Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic and Philips) will have sufficient hardware upgrades (brighter OLED panel, Mini LED backlighting, HDMI 2.1) worth waiting for.

The "Includes Paid Promotion" message at the start of this video refers to the sponsorship by Audible.

tbh I just clicked for the thumbnail 😂 I‘m not even in the market for a new tv
  • My 6 year old Sony just smacked me across the head for that intro. 😂
  • @Pienimusta
And one month later after buying the 2021 model, you get buyers remorse for not getting the 2022 model.

Fun anecdote, this year I found a new in box LG E8 OLED (2018) at a store. They had lost the tv for some time and had recently added it back into stock. Their system showed the original price around $3500, and when I asked for the clearance price the punched it in and....$400. I've never bought a tv so fast in my life.

I never buy the newest TV on the market, and never have regrets because it's always a better quality TV than the one it's replacing in my house. So if I buy last year's model TV and it's replacing a 5-6 year old TV, it's will be an improvement. No regrets and it saves me money.

Buy what you can afford, I recently bought a 2019 OLED for a great price, 0 regrets.

I wish I could upvote twice, this was an incredibly good and very detailed video without the generic ‘it’s up to you’ type conclusion, you have some excellent recommendations here Mr 2 minutes 😎

This video deserves a thumbs up for the thumbnail alone. Vincent you're low key hilarious! 😂😂😂

Its always difficult to buy a TV. If you buy a TV whens newly released it will be damn expensive. When you wait for the price to be lower, newer TVs are released and the cycle will keep repeating.
  • I bought my LG CX in November and have ZERO regrets. $1750 for a 65" beautiful Oled TV with great gaming features.

I bought the Samsung 75 inch Q90T and I’m perfectly happy with my purchase, no regrets and pairs very well with PS5 and Sony UBP X800 M2. Won’t need to upgrade for a few years. Still got LG OLED B7P 65 inch going strong still and no burn in.
