4WD Daytona - First Parts Store Run (Before the 3.9 Blew Up!)
Published 2024-06-10
I think the problem started when some unauthorized creep came snooping around and pulled the metal cover off the engine right before the big thunderstorms in April 2023. It ended up full of water. and although it didn't seize up and I was able to pump all the water out, I think that may have lead to the destruction. It also caused four of the six injectors to seize up.
Anyway, I have a 318 in there now on the same 32RH that came with the 239, and you should start seeing the 318 swap episodes soon. Mighty fine how do you do that it blows up three weeks before Power Tour (and my vacation!), but I reckon that's better than blowing up when I'm at the farthest point away from home! I still find that irritating though, I hadn't abused it at all, and I was driving around very carefully to make sure everything held together.
That's a pisser, but hopefully now I'll have MORE POWER from the Binford 318000 automotive power plant!
