When I check product reviews I always look for lowest ratings first. If there are plenty of those I don't bother with high ratings. Doing this has served me well.

I hope you gave that cute little coyote some steak, James 😂

This is a pretty common thing in Asia where a lot of students will have one the same way people out west will typically have a hotplate for their dorm rooms, and it's mostly only really for soup or instant noodles, oatmeals or congee, and reheating leftovers with a splash of water on the bottom before you toss in the food.
  • The guest appearance of "Cowboy Jimmy" White was a welcome diversion.

Loves seeing Bailey pop into frame. What a good doggy!

These are great for soups, I had an old 1 i picked up at an asian grocery store years ago during college. Easy way to cook top ramen plus you can boil an egg to make it 'fancy'

Just buy an old school electric skillet. You can cook ALMOST anything!!
  • @ldyvic
Anyone that has this or a pot like this, just put the egg in as it is preheating. It would cook as it gets to temp. Or make the breakfast meat then turn it off and cook it as it is cooling off.

That there, "coyote" is of the Yogi Bear variety. It will steal your lovely pic-a-nic vittles.

I love mine. Got almost 2yrs ago. It was originally meant for power outages because it cooks so quick that it doesn't draw alot from my Jackery power station. I end up using it more than I thought. Cleans up fast and makes a better steak than my air fryer when I don't want the extra mess usiing a cast iron skillet. I like a rare steak. I put on high to sear both sides and I'm good. Sautes perogi's and chicken breasts nicely. I bought it at $29.99 before price went up.

"Amazon's Choice" is just a marketing label that sellers or manufacturers can buy.

I'm in my 60s and my mom had an electric skillet decades ago. It worked beautifully and was big enough to cook 4 burgers or pancakes at the same time, and it was deep enough to handle most things.
  • @Dobj319
Back in the 60's my mother had a square frying pan with legs to hold it off the cabinet. As I remember, the power cable was much better arranged than this.
  • @tomd5010
The “C” shape seen on the bottom of the pan may be from the heating element, with the “opening” being the ends of the positive and negative electric connections for it.
  • @shannondore
Lol!🤠 You're so funny James. And sweet Bailey wouldn't take her eye off that steak. I hope she got a little taste.🐶 Have you ever reviewed the portable lunch crockpots? I was curious if those worked.
  • I've had one of the square "presto" cookers with completely adjustable temps for years. Served me well, and no scorched eggs. Great for travel too.
  • I used this one when I was in a dorm. The stick resistance coating is easy to come out. Best thing to use it are ramen, mac&cheese and pancakes
  • @SmileyBMM
Yeah I'd just get a hotplate, much more controllable and even temperature.
