Also I hc Mihawk was abandoned as a child so he was never taught how to properly show emotions. he never was taken in, he just went from town to town surviving as a child. so when two intruders broke in. he took them in and tried to be a dad figure which he secretly enjoyed. And when it came time for them to leave, he didn't try to stop them. He just wished them luck on their journey.
