Fun fact. that was the original voice actress, Mae Questel, who voiced betty boop in this movie. So that bit with betty asking if she still had it and eddie saying that she did was extra wholesome!!!!

I love how the author retconned his own book because he really liked Jessica being completely head over heels in love with Roger instead of being indifferent to him like in the book

As a children, you relate to rabbit, but as a adulterer, you relate to drunk.

Donald and Daffy basically had to have a collab. The agreement the producers got from the rival studios was they could only use characters as long as their rivals counterpart didn't get more lines or screentime. Hence why Donald and Daffy have a 50 : 50 banter, and why Bugs and Mickey appear together.

Surprised Kor didn't mention the fact that, with Jessica Rabbit it's not just the fact that she's detailed as far as how integrated she is into the real world, but the animators apparently made her waist so skinny so that they could prove they didn't rotoscope her.
  • Fun Fact: The novel version of Roger was an absolute monster. Also the book was entirely about figuring out who murdered Roger.

Kor's knowledge of the movie is really fun to listen and so is both him and Jack's reaction to Eden's shock of a movie for kids talking/showing heavy stuff
  • @SaiScribbles
I saw this movie all the time as a little kid. And then when I rewatched it as an older teen I said "WHO THE HELL LET ME WATCH THIS AS A KID!?"
  • @ethanfinity
Fun fact: The animation director of this movie was Richard Williams, who I know is also the creator of his unfinished masterpiece film, The Thief and the Cobbler
  • This is the film that the Chip and Dale movie wishes it was. Imagine a sequel where Roger interviews a variety of cartoon characters from the 1990’s to 2020’s
  • @Laxhoop
Siskel and Ebert both said that this movie represented an amazing step forward in special effects, and they couldn’t wait to see more movies like it. Which is so tragic when you realize like 2 other movies tried to do what Roger Rabbit did, with blending live action and 2D, and the most successful one was Space Jam.
  • "Is this allowed?" Actually, the collab is precisely why it was allowed. Contractually, the Warner Bros. and Disney characters had to have the same amount of screen time, and this was easiest accomplished by putting them in the same scenes.

18:34 its actually one of the more impressive moments of 'show don't tell' this movie does. In the establishing shot of his office desk (which the transition from night to day was all done with practical effects with no cuts OMG) its established both he and his brother grew up in the circus which is why he can juggle, do flips, and why he and his brother initially got along so well with toons.

I love that Kor’s a resident “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” production expert. The niche I never knew I needed
  • Another fun fact about this movie: Judge Doom was written to be the hunter that killed Bambi's mom! Even though that backstory wasn't brought to the screen, there's also nothing that says otherwise, so I choose to believe it's still a fact.
  • @itsdantaylor
4:56 apparently the actors prepping for this movie, had lasting effects on their psyche. The actor playing Eddie Valiant was reported to have occasionally been found talking to 'Roger' well after this movie was released.
  • @G4neralTuga
The defenition of a Masterpiece, which unfortunately won't happen again, 12/10
  • @66Roses
4:30 They hint at it in the movie, but flat out explain it in the book. Appearance means almost nothing to toons, because they can look like anything. Status, now that means something. The toons don't consider Jessica to be a slam dunk like we would, they consider Roger to be the catch. This is because Roger is from a highly profitable gag cartoon, and Jessica is a pin-up girl. Imagine an A-List actor marrying a stripper and you've got an idea how they see it.
  • @danofsteel785
9:51 Roger Rabbit actually originated from the book Who Censored Roger Rabbit? as a comic strip character. Here, he's been reinvisioned as a Golden Age-era cartoon character.
