The Springfield Hellion is finally here, after many years the famed Croatian Bullpup the VHS-2 has arrived. The question is how did Springfield do? Is the Hellion an excellent rifle? Does it perform as it should? How does it stack up against other Bullpup rifles?

My bad on the Balkans mistake! Hope you enjoy this video on the VHS-2
  • I remember watching the first Toy Story on the VHS-1. Crazy how far technology has taken it.
  • The most important part about reloading the vhs is making sure to rewind the mag before you take it out

4000 rounds down range with my Hellion. Zero issues or malfunctions. 16in barrel on a platform shorter than an M4? Yes please. Thing's a laser beam.

"Took it apart, put it back together all a sudden it was fixed" Every month of my IT guy life.
  • I had a K9 partner, a German Shepherd from Croatia, we nicknamed the Croatian Sensation, rest in peace buddy, you were the best boy.

If you've ever purposely NOT rewound a VHS tape before returning it to blockbuster, go ahead and hit that subscribe button.
  • I love the design of this rifle. Its like a mix of the Battle Rifle from Halo, the FAMAS, and the StA-52 rifle from Killzone all rolled into one.

I wonder what people who just randomly find this channel think when stepping neck deep into the grand thumb lore without a primer lol

Im Croatian and it's a honour that Garand Thumb used a gun from my homeland.

I have only words of praise for this rifle. From the first day I bought it until now (about 2000 rounds fired) no problems. Comfortable, ergonomic and reliable, just perfect. The best choice I made.

Garand Thumb: "Hey guys, didn't see you there, I was just enjoying nature- When you think of the Baltics, do you think of warcrimes or do you think of a very well built combat rifle in a bullpup configuration?" Me: "Isn't Croatia in the Balkans?"
  • @Reagansolum13
mp3->mp4->mp5 everyone: “well that escalated quickly” VHS: “hold my beer.”
  • No matter what kind of weapon you design. Wether its ergonomics are great, or wether you can put a tonne of stuff on it. When your average infantry say its a reliable and accurate weapon system that they enjoy having over annything else. Thats a masterclass of a weapon, right there.

VHS stands for Višenamjenska Hrvatska Strojnica (Multipurpose Croatian Machinegun) for anyone wondering.

If you've ever been anywhere around the Balkans, that length of pull makes sense. I remember thinking I was above average height (6'1) then stepping off the plane in Serbia and immediately feeling like a child. They grow em tall out there.

Our WHS is a solid rifle, I've used it and it takes time to get used to after using an AK-47. There are no bad weapons, but there are bad shooters. Even policemen in America carry the Croatian HS 2000 (you call that pistol the springfield HD)

Coming back to this video to say I am Proud owner of a Springfield Hellion as my First Rifle, this was the video that sold me on it even after the critical judgments about the trigger (which are acurate) Thank you for the great content!
