I honestly think Gavrilo Princip should be number one, because he started the series of events that caused WW1 and ultimately WW2, just saying.

the best assassin is one who reveals nothing, not even his name, to others and also most certainly would not be captured. therefore this list is rendered useless and not indicative of the "top 10 assassins in history".
