very informative. But isn't beard hair more course? when grown out, will it look wiry compared to scalp hair? Is it more suitable for mid to crown area? Or can it be used for hairline too?

Dr. Karadeniz, I'm 21 years old and I think I'm beginning to lose my hair. My brother is 23 and he has visible male pattern baldness but he's had it since he was 20. My father is bald, as is my uncle on my mother's side. Grandfather's on both sides are bald as well. I predict that I'll begin to see significant crown thinning in 6 years. My hair density is visibly good but I can't give you an exact density figure. Would it make sense to go in for multiple sessions where the hair from the sides is moved to the crown and then have hair moved from the beard to replace the donor regions on the scalp? I figure this would work as I usually keep my hair shorter on the sides. I also think it would work better because that hair is usually matted down, hiding thing hair. I don't have much chest hair (or body hair for that matter). The longest body hairs I have are on my legs and (don't laugh) my pubic region. Do these hairs necessairly grow on the scalp the same way they grow on their region of origin? Also, is it possible to transplant hair from another person? Update: I've been on Propecia for 2 and a half years. No sides. Hairs great.
