My DIY rake combs the lawn as I mow and makes the strays stand up. I cut clockwise then again counter clockwise. Sure it takes more time but I treat your lawn like my lawn. I like that golf course look with no stray grass popping up later that looks like you missed several spots. Also this dethatches clumps and brings dead grass to the top to be mulched again into finer particles. And it puts the nutrients back into the lawn. I used four old rakes, screwed and clamped them to a pole for towing.
