No matter HOW much you love a person, whether they are your child, parent or sibling, when they are drunk, being obnoxious, slurring their words, being loud, dominating all conversations, and getting angry, it changes your feelings about them. You love them as much as you ever did, but you just don't like them anymore and don't want to be around them when they're drunk. It's heartbreaking to feel that way about someone you love. 😢

I have a family member who was a non-functioning alcoholic. Gave up 30 years ago, but the brain damage was there. Early-ish Alzheimers which is highly correlated to binge drinking. Also had a friend who was a high functioning alcoholic. Died at 52 due to liver failure. Complete shock to friends and colleagues.

My husband is a functioning alcoholic, terrible to live with, belligerent when drunk, and couldn’t care less, how he gaslights me, and speaks I’ll of me, thereby destroying my relationships with some members of the family, his brother, his children from his first marriage, and anyone else who drinks with him.

My husband hides his bottle , gets drunk, and preetends he isn.t drinking. He does everything for me as I have cancer. I hate him drunk, AND MY FSMILY IS DESTROYED BECAUSE OF HIM.

I am an alcoholic and I need help I was extremely successful in my past earning well into six figures. I have lost it all I need to go somewhere that is a thorough and efficient and I have no problem saying I owe the money because once I get back on my feet I know I will rock it I don't want to be in a place that won't motivate me to be who I used to be. I am intelligent and aggressive with a sickness and I need help I'm more than happy to be a poster boy

Yesterday, I engaged in risky sexual activity and then blacking out while driving. I still maintain I don't have a problem.

I like getting drunk every day and blacking out it really is a lot of fun. Plus if I did something messed up I don't remember doing it. It's a win win situation.
