While volunteering at WFFT I was cleaning this guys area around his enclosure. I went right over and started raking. He was screaming and acting really anxious. So I started farthest away and slowly worked my way to him. I put the rake down and used my feet with rubber boots to clear some of the bigger leaves. Then slowly used the rake gently. He eventually warmed up and knew I meant no harm. Then once it was clean we started observing each other.
I came back later and wanted to see him from far away and about 30 meters away he was already watching me. That’s when I knew this guy had been watching me long before I was watching him.
