Several months ago, Josh from the Water Swatters said he'd love to be able to catch a wild trout, so I told him to come out here if he was up for the challenge. Not long after, we both marked our calendars and set aside the dates for this trip. After a long drive from Oklahoma and a wrong turn in Wichita, he and his family were here in Colorado. After acclimating to the elevation for a day, we embarked on a journey to one of my favorite spots. Getting there is a challenge for me, but what about Josh an his daughter? Well, they fared pretty well, but you'll have to see how it went. We managed to get into some cutthroat and we all survived the hike, so I'd say mission accomplished. Having lived in Oklahoma for 7 years I can attest that your Okie friends are definitely not acclimated to your gorgeous Colorado Mountain elevations but they did a great job getting up there, heck the views alone take my breath away. What a beautiful place, crystal clear water and those beautiful native Cutties, awesome ! Great video Ryan ! Well done !

I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed enjoyed this one! Hike and fish at 11k+ elevation, cutthroat in a mountain lake and all that scenery was just amazing, Rye! Phenomenal trip brother!!

That's so awesome he came there to fish with you!! Always absolutely beautiful views! Snow fields too. Wow...5 miles in. Amazing with that lake up there! Top it off Josh got on some fish! They are such a gorgeous fish! Great underwater release in that crystal clear water. Great video Ryan!

I can pretty much smell the alpine pine and feel the elevation in my lungs. Snow in summer, baby! The places you go to catch fish. I don't think you could find cleaner water then that snow melt. Glad you guys caught fish.
