MJP was the King of Quirky characters. I remember him very fondly as one of my favorite character actors.

"The Magic Mirror" in the original "Lost In Space" was enthralling to a young kid in the 1960's as was "Miri" in Star Trek TOS. RIP Michael.

Great tribute to an actor who I often noticed. Bonnie & Clyde is a classic of course - but I LOVED his Lost in Space episode which is the first time I saw him!

He really stood out in Bonnie and Clyde - Beatty and Dunaway cancelled each other out, but this guy REALLY STOOD OUT with his wry smile and mannerisms -- I watched that movie for the first time as a cinema-ignorant teenager way back in the 80s before any internet , and that too overseas. I literally went out of my mind trying to find out who that actor was, since the VHS tape I rented did not come with any cover or any details. Then I got a copy of Leonard Maltin's Big Book Movie Guide and finally found out his name, and my mind was set at rest! 😄😄
  • I'm 74 and always thought he was the most realistic of quircky characters. His part in Dick Tracy was small but totally loveable. Thank you, Michael for being so good at what you did.
