My grandfather musician told me "you always recognise a piece from Rossini, he's always in a hurry because he has to go stir the tomato sauce". Rossini was an extremely enthusiastic chef, in addition to a great composer.

A Korean conductor leading a Japanese Philharmonic playing a song written by an Italian composer. This is how the world should be. Music unites all :)

Cant stop watching this .. jus the teaching of the body language ❤........2024???????????????
  • One of my absolute favourite conductors. He deeply cares about the music and really brings its power out

Thats the most chill conductor I have ever seen
  • The best performance I have ever seen. The stand-up by the orchestra at the end was, and still is breathtaking!

I've probably watched this 100+ times and love it every time. Between the conductor's actions, the gray bearded cello player and the first violin the enjoyment they are all having with this wonderful piece makes it just a special video. Thanks to all of them for their performance.

One person sat down and wrote every note for every instrument in his head and came up with this.

At 80 yrs old it's a pleasure to say that this is the best ever. To Mr Chung and the Tokyo Philharmonic --- Thank you.

Just watch his subtle hand motions, his fingers and hands are directing the 90 piece orchestra. Amazing just to watch him conduct.

FANTASTIC!! Coming from an old mechanic who can't play a tambourine but appreciates those who can.

Fastest version I've heard. I love the standing at the end and the instruments up in the bleachers.
  • The smiles on the Orkestra show the pleasure they had in giving us that performance. Bravo

Good music knows no borders. Music the peace, we all need to find.

My one year old boy loves this performance and he swings his arms with the music. He is in daycare now, I miss him so much, I can't work

This conductor is the ultimate best. Doesn't require sheet music. Knows exactly what section plays what and when. I watch this video at least once a day.👍👍

This is by far and away my favorite rendition of this piece. The speed and power is very visceral yet refined - it's absolutely magnificent.
