FIFO - The Negative Points

Published 2024-07-19
Hello folks! Follow along my journey as I document my experience of getting a FIFO Job in Australia.

Moved over from Ireland with no experience and managed to get a FIFO job working 3:1s.

This channel is taking you along with me and showing you the ins and outs.

My aim is to help anyone else that wants to follow my pathway.

I did a shutdown in central WA (Leonora, nickel mine) a few years back. Best and worst blokes I ever met. lol… a real experience

Do you have any advice on how to get in a role for a quick cash grab? I'm 31 and have no mines experience, but I've been a stone masons labourer, so I'm all good with hard work.. I have been applying online to a bunch of mines for offsider positions as thats all I really see for entry level and haven't heard back, honestly just want to do a few years at most so I really don't care how bad the work is, I just want to save on rent and work hard to stack up some cash for a while.

Did mining 14yrs; easiest work. Best pay, but the repetition and some mines are toxic af. Blokes who have no life experience. I would not recommend and would not do again.

Oh poor baby. To be forced to do that must be terrible. Oi, hang on you choose to do this. Can't leave the site? Thats BS. Have a spoon of concrete in ya coffee and harden up.
