In this video we'll look at how to setup TailScale on Windows and Linux.

From tailscale.com/

A secure network that just works
Zero config VPN. Installs on any device in minutes, manages firewall rules for you, and works from anywhere.

And they're not kidding. No need to port forward while you're using TailScale. Access your devices from anywhere with a network connections with minimal setup!

For Synology devices go here and find the correct package for your device: github.com/tailscale/tailscale-synology/releases

It's my understanding that not all devices are supported, but I got it working on my DS1621xs+ using the tailscale_1.8.3_amd64.spk file

Finally a solution to my fears of opening tens of ports for each SSH machine or some local service I have at home, thank you!

So easy to setup, so seamless to work. Makes my security alarm bells ringing, who really owns Tailscale... 😅

Another amazing video - thank you. I have installed on several Synology devices, and turned off quickconnect. This is both faster, and a lot more secure, and even without the great convenience of access to the home network, it would be worth it for NAS access alone.
