Damn! Seeing Barry lose a race because he went for style on the last jump, was crazy! Vanity kills! Excellent video! πŸ‘

As a former Racer and also a former asphalt seal coater it’s kinda bitter sweet to see this happening I know that the only way to prevent those turns from crumbling apart is to maintain them with sealer but I know how slick sealer gets when it rains. With as steep as those burms are that pavement would disintegrate with out maintaining them which would cause tracks to have to repave them every few years. Which would be crazy expensive. If it were me I would seal coat the turns but add coarse sand or super fine gravel to the top to keep traction but also maintain the asphalt it can be done just have to know the proper way to do it. Not saying I’m an expert by any means but we use to add extra sand to our sealer on certain jobs to improve traction so I know it can be done. I’d say talk to your tracks and your seal coating company and come up with a game plan to get the best of both worlds because it absolutely can be done.

Thank you for making and for sharing the video. This was a really good video...even without the always appreciated POV angles. Your BTS take and details about each of the races/rounds was very interesting. That track was just a near complete nightmare with those slippery turns. At least you went down with some sideway sliding style during that first moto. BIG congrats on "both" of your wins(?!?) and podium placings. If you play you pay....no points for stylish finishes. That one inch had to really ouch. ...and as almost always...there will be other races to come. Best of luck with everything coming up for you and the family during the summer months on the road. I hope that you all have safe travels and make many great memories. Willow is getting so big and growing up so fast. Please know that all of your time and many efforts are always GREATLY appreciated! Now back to gates, weights and sprints. ...and never forget to have some real fun jumping some of those bikes too. Fly Nobles fly! ..... πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ
  • Just not your day today Barry love the vids keep the great work

Thanks for the video from Melbourne Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

It looked like someone lite a fire under Riddel's butt on that second straight away but I was still suprised he caught you, but really more happy noone got any needless injuries on that slick turn.
  • @Kingstoncroes
The day one main plan worked out perfect! Never seen someone take out everybody without even touching themπŸ˜‚

I would say coating leads to noticeably more crashes and potential injuries. So price to maintain a track cannot be compensated on the riders back. You are invited to race in Hamburg! We will not coat it for sureπŸ‘ and there will be a lot of fans there too.

Nashville was crazy. I told my son just avoid wiping out in the turns and we'll make mains. Godo racing though.

Hawkesbury BMX club in NSW sealed their 1st berm & it was unrideable in the wet at the last state round. I pulled out of the last race due to safety concerns & got disqualified for the whole day. Superclass final 5 cashed on the 1st berm 3 finished the race. Disgusting. Auscycling should be disgraced that they let this happen.
  • I totally agree with you Barry about sealing the turns. I went down last year (2023) in turn 1 while leading my race, injured my shoulder which ended my weekend. If the tracks want to seal the turns they should do it at least 3-4 weeks before a Nationals.
  • I'd like to see you ride dirt jumps in the off season. Maybe on a steel bike, lol!
