Starcraft II Co-Op Missions

A new “Prestige” system has been added that allows players to play through the level 1-15 progression up to three additional times per commander. Each time a player activates Prestige with a given commander, they will unlock a unique Prestige Talent, which can be used to change the core gameplay of the commander.

This video is a demonstration of the prestige talents Arcturus Mengsk currently has in Starcraft II co-op missions. The changes are LIVE, so you can try them out yourself!

The nerve of Mengsk not only allying with Kerrigan but also releasing the Zerg

No Vampires were hurt during the filming of this video.

I queued with CtG while he was leveling Mengsk's P1. It was chill.
  • I know you didn't like Abathur 1, but I think you should try it out with a Queen build. They become very powerful with all the biomass due to sheer health values, life steal, energy regen and attack speed.

I think there's an irony with P3 in that despite being a prestige all about your troops being super-expendable, it actually makes it easier to reach critical mass. The reason being that the Troopers you lose using P3, you probably would have lost without the prestige anyway - but the kills they get from mini-nuking the enemy depletes the enemy firepower that'll be coming in on the rest of your force, thereby reducing your losses overall. As opposed to regular Troopers, where a Trooper dying and dropping their weapon does little to prevent other Troopers dying, and often actually increases the likelihood of the remaining Troopers dying (since the total firepower of the force). Seems counterintuitive, but it's less that the Troopers with P3 are being used as suicide troops (nothing in the prestige, apart from the lack of medivacs, makes them more likely to die) and more that throwing their weapons just as they're about to die anyway gives them one last "screw you"... which might just save the conscript next to them.

For P2 you can easily see from the top bar numbers that in the long run, Royal Guards generate far more imperial mandate than indoctrinated labourers/troopers(even with trooper/labourer imperial support), therefore with P2 it is more efficient to allocate points to Royal Guard imperial support instead. This also has the added benefit of allowing you to sacrifice labourers for repairing your mech units and for extra supply, and you can also pull your Imperial Witnesses away from mineral lines so you can build less of them for more supply, because as seen in your demo, supply is a limiting factor for how many Royal Guards you can have. Since you will end up with way too many minerals anyway you may as well sacrifice the labourers for extra supply. You will also want to have Imperial Intercessors to follow your army around so your Aegis Guards and Emperor's Shadows are kept healthy. You can also use them to load up slow units like Thors and boost your ground army around for mobility. In the late game when you have sac'd enough labourers and still have too much gas and too little supply for more Royal Guards, you should add a couple of Emperor's Shadows into your army and spam nuke silos. Alternatively you can spam EOs for Contaminated Strikes because you will have so much mandate.

I'd love to see an abathur P2 build where you' d solo with no air, quick 3 brutas followed by a ton of roaches/ravagers/swarm hosts on a map like mist opportunities. Thanks so much for all the detailed guides!

Artanis P3 Arkship Commandant You don't need to shoot in a powerfield to spawn the archons. They just don't spawn if the shots are centered over structures. You can still get the damage down on the structures, it just has to be the edge touching the structure, not the center. I also find it best to be more selective with the shots. 1 shot+Archon will kill every opening wave I think. You can use the other 4 shots to finish taking out your gas rocks, although you should be able to take all three rocks with one round. It is also very effective to leapfrog the Archons. Get just in vision range of the force you want to take on, shoot one shot, wait for vision, then pick higher value targets for the next shots. I find they completely take the place of Shield Overcharge in most situations. Just put them down and let them tank/do damage while you send in your troops after them to clean up. I think you should try them out Chain of Ascension. You clear expo and first build Nexus with your first salvo, and then clear your partners with your second. Puts you on a very fast start to follow up with whatever unit composition the map calls for. The early game strength of this prestige is pretty insane while still being useful in late game for sniping down heavy damage dealers in the back.

Give P2 Mengsk mass BC a try. 1. Fast expand 2. Barebones tech: barracks, factory, 2x starport, fusion core. 3. Get witnesses for each mining base 4. Spam BCs. Lvl 3 BCs are insanely powerful with 3x SPLASH yamato per single cast. Any cloaked unit will be caught in the yamato splash. By the 12-15m mark you should have roughly 5-6 BCs with a few being lvl 3. Repair whenever low.
  • For the second prestige, not only does the exp gain actually help imperial mandate, as the rank of an RG unit is important, the modified supply of the unit is actually factored into the equation too. The second prestige gives way more imperial mandate from RG units than normal.
  • @Marx0w0
Thanks for this now the have the Idea on how I should play the prestige.
  • @bogusjuan4998
For P2 ya can go 2 worker saturation on minerals and forget the 2 supply line blimps and their fusion core upgrade, get royal guard support mastery as well. set up is much faster and can pump out RG in decent time. Mineral dump troopers not required and actually slow things down unless you have swann drones. Mastery 3 is a wash between strong early game or stronger everything else, depends on partner/mutation.
  • @Rothem_
Can you try P2 with the Royal Guard Mastery points? It may not be efficient as you say, but I wanna see how high you can crank up that number
  • @VictorSteiner
So do your "scvs" in the soldier version also grant faster shooting speed on the artillery towers? The description sounds as if you only get the bonus if they are in worker-form?
  • @sergeylukin9111
Please tell me how to make an additional statistics window like in the video.
  • @RynerAGL
I have unlocked the prestiges on Mengsk but not really played them beyond mastery that much yet, I feel like you can get away with Aigis guard opener instead of witness, especially with early-game commanders like Dehaka, Tychus and Zagara to soak all of the exp, 3-5 rank 3 Aigis guards are huge powerhouses. Definitelly gonna test that.
