“There’ll Be Some Changes Made”
Music by Benton Overstreet
Lyrics by Billy Higgins
Performed by Jack Carson and The Starlighters with Frank DeVol’s Orchestra on the October 30, 1947 episode of the radio show “The Sealtest Village Store.”

Carson was starring on that show at the time. The whole episode is great! You can hear it here:    • Sealtest Village Store Halloween 1947

  • I love how jazzy Jack’s interpretation is. He really was a gifted musician. He could play any orchestra or band instrument passably well (that was part of his stage act for years), and he played several instruments very well, including the trumpet*, piano, and harp. He could also conduct! Impressive for someone who is also a great comedic and dramatic actor, as well as a dancer and popular emcee! *His trumpet playing in “Blues in the Night” was dubbed. Very likely his playing in “The Time, The Place, and the Girl” was also dubbed. But he did play the trumpet in real life, and I’ve found several sources attesting to his skills.
