The Aptera is the only new vehicle i got excited about in the last 10 years.
  • @The-Rest-of-Us
We need more of these EVs and fewer of the 7,000 lbs EVs.

This is a wonderful design and good to see an American manufacturer thinking outside the square!

Sandy has no reservations when it comes to words - it is raw and brutal but TRUE. Team Aptera, the Aptera is a home run hit and we are loving it.

Thanks to Sandy and Chris for this impromptu update. Nothing better than to hear it directly from the source, along with the opinion of the leading lean manufacturing guru!!
  • @fjalics
I'm glad we finally have a standard. I thought it would be CCS, but NACS is sleeker for sure. It is funny that Aptera was first. Love to see it hit production.

I prefer buttons. Maybe an opportunity for aftermarket to sell some.

So honored you guys have joined us yet again for another successful event

The fact that this doesn't qualify for the tax credit is a huge issue. This vehicle costs $33,200 and you can get a new inventory model 3 for $31,500 after the federal tax credit (and much less with some state credits). And the model 3 comes with a higher quality interior, extra seats, autopilot, 4 wheels, great software, etc. The Aptera really needs economies of scale to bring the price down and make it more competitive

i personally can't wait for when I get my Aptera - to be able to identify people who see it for the first time and indicate with glittering eyes that they understand exactly why it's shaped that way. Those are my people 😅

I hope they actually start manufacturing and ship this to people that have deposits, before they get to the Omega version.
  • Great video. I wish the Aptera team all the best and most successful launch in production. 🎉❤

An investor guru once said, "Innovation is risk. It's hard to make the impossible possible." This is what Aptera is experiencing as they strive to bring the world's most efficient EV to market. Most investors avoid risk as a rule. But the insightful ones, the really successful ones, carefully study the product and its viability, and then take that leap of (informed) faith. I have.

"A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee" LOL I love Sandy

This car will make sense for so many people. It would be a great city or commuter car.

I really want physical controls for things like skip track and AC. Other than that looks amazing I know they want to go the technology route with the head unit, but one of the selling points was supposed to be repair-ability and being able to swap head units in/out easily. Will all those functions being software based one would be stuck with whatever design decisions were made.

I´m certainly going to buy one. But being an old geek, I need to see and drive the damn thing first to be sure. On paper, everything looks perfect. I wish you guys at Aptera a great future and the bit of luck that you deserve. And Sandy, keep doing what you do!
