It's hard to find love in a household that only views fear as respect

7 y.o --> Afraid of his mom (growing in poverty ) 17 y.o --> Afraid of death (cause that's what you do when you're 17 in Compton ) 27 y.o --> Afraid of losing everything he built , his inspiration , his love...

Stop asking why things are slept on. You hear it when you’re ready.

People shit on Damn a lot, but FEAR is by far the song I've come back to most often. Its so real when you get older.

this song was born a classic, it's one of the greatest rap songs ever written, with a classic boom bap instrumental just how I like it

just noticed kendrick in the second verse said the word “die” 17 times then and then mentioned that he was 17 at the time of the verse

Damn, i listened to this song so many times and this is my first time noticing that Kendrick sings about his fear when he was a child, a teenager and an adult, this is pure art, the best rapper of all time.👑

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
  • @iambabitrey
@5:29 he started naming all the tracks on the album in his verse
  • @slimdunkenz2795
Kendrick Lamar is probably the best rapper walking the face of this earth.
  • "My dna wont let me involve in the light of God" "i dont know if its wicked or weakness but its distinctive" -kendrick
  • The more years past the more this album becomes a classic. Kendrick just can’t miss with an album. Every album he has made, to me is a classic

Damn this song is depressing.. but holy shit around 5 min. when the violins start to swell and the sample hit the "I've been hungry all my life--starved to the bone." a HUGE wave of euphoria crashed over me, like the whole song just clicked on another level and everything just melded together; driving it home with Kendrick listening to his cousin's phone call. Just powerful shit.

I’m 26 been listening to this track since I was 22. I related to the1st and 2nd verse, but now it’s 3rd verse that hits me the most as time passes by. Fear is real, don’t let it control or define you.
