Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is releasing in theaters today! ^^ I originally had a massive video planned where I go over a bunch of cartoons inspired by Harrison Ford's biggest character, but after some age restriction problems that happened with my last video, my time was cut a lot shorter than I expected. X) So instead, here's a fun little story of a Netherlands animator who essentially gave us a taste of what an Indiana Jones animated series might have looked like! (And based on Disney Plus rumors might look like!) It's not lost media or anything, but I've never seen anyone cover its history before and it is pretty interesting. ^^ Taking inspiration from Batman the Animated Series' intro, I give you The Adventures of Indiana Jones! A little obscure, a little dark, and a lot of hard work! Hope you guys enjoyed this little deep dive! Be sure to comment and like if you enjoyed it. ^^

P.S - The jokes about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were inevitable, but honestly, I don't think it's as dreadful as everyone makes it out to be. X)

P.S.S - I know for a fact Patrick Schoenmaker is never gonna see this, but it feels good to bring one of his most interesting animations to light. ^w^

P.S.S.S - Did you know Lucas film only has 4 franchises? Yeah, just Star Wars, Indiana Jones, American Graffiti and Willow. That's it. XD

P.S.S.S.S - Temple of Doom is cool ok? I'm tired of people saying it's not XD

0:00 Intro
1:19 What is The Adventures of Indiana Jones?
3:52 How is the short?
5:56 So why DIDN'T this become a series?

Y'know if they ever did a Indiana Jones animated series, i picture it as something like the Ducktales reboot, where its a adventure of the week with a big underlining plot, funny enough alot of the old scrooge mcduck comics were one of an inspiration for Indiana Jones.

A TV cartoon would've been nice, but short films work just as well 😊

Oh come on, Crystal Skull wasn't THAT bad. I saw it opening weekend and found myself really liking it. But this animated short is especially great and I feel cheated we never got a Indy animated show.

Yeah, an Indiana Jones cartoon would be pretty awesome, besides it could still happen. Anyways, I will be seeing Dial of Destiny with my Dad this weekend. I will try go in with low expectations to see if I can at least walk out of the film enjoying it.

Animation is what they really should do with Indiana Jones franchise from here on out Harrison ford is not able play to indie forever.
  • Even though I'm not an Indiana Jones fan, this video and short was cool and fun. Thanks Finn for the video and can't wait for the Helluva Boss 108 review next week! See you soon!!!

Would've loved to see an Indy cartoon back in the 90s to early 2000s. It probably would've been one of my favorite cartoons from ny childhood.

Hear me out. What if they went with an animated anthology series? Bounce around his timeline, show us some of Indy's less famous adventures on Disney+. Maybe do what Young Indiana Jones Chronicles TRIED to do, but with more action and adventure. Cut out Baby Indy but have Harrison Ford (or a soundalike) voice "modern" Indy with the occasional adventure from a younger version. Hell, flashbacks could be a thing. Maybe we see more of Short Round. Or maybe "Fedora" appears again. Or Indy's childhood friend Herman Mueller. The possibilities are endless! See if Genndy Tartakovsky can fit time in his schedule to oversee this and we're golden!

Patrick' s art could work for so many media, cartoons, graphic novels, even a good old school adventure game like lucasarts used to do

You know I never thought about Indiana Jones getting a animated show which I would have loved because I can see it being similar to Jackie Chan Adventures especially with other mature movies who already got a cartoon based on them like The Mummy, Beetlejuice, Evolution, MIB, Jumanji, Godzilla, Gremlins, Back to the Future, & many more
  • HOW AM I JUST FINDING OUT ABOUT THIS NOW! I love Indiana Jones, I have seen all the movies and even watched the Young Indy Chronicles (really good show btw Finn I highly recommend it.)
  • @MattCaliber
With so many movies/games that got their own cartoons, it's weird that Indiana Jones didn't get one. I mean, Conan the Barbarian, Highlander, and even Mortal Kombat got cartoons. And they are some of the most violent properties in history!

I normally don't comment anything, but I would absolutely die for something like this, it's one of those things like lego ninjago in my opinion that can be reworked with lots fo adventure stories as Indiana Jones is no stranger to curses, mystery and macabe.

I mean, we also have an animated Night at the Museum movie by Disney so maybe it's better than we don't have an animated Indiana Jones movie by Disney.
  • OMG dutch animator spotlighted and we talk about Montana Jones my number 1 favorite furry anime aaaand nimona came out and its groundbreakingly good, truly it feels like my birthday well its not even my birthday
  • @recapnerd2657
Yeah, no Disney ain’t going to do anything with it, and if they are they’ll somehow ruin it 😑
