  • mark repeatedly shouting “I SEE YOU” while looking into a pitch black room giving me the same vibes as when dogs start barking at seemingly nothing in horror movies
  • i love how the game just tells you ”press shift to run” when theres nothing to run from, same with ”you can hide under the bed” its just so ominous i love it

“Shift to run” … such a terrifyingly arbitrary function in such a tiny, enclosed space. Made my skin crawl.

One of the brilliant things this game does is avoid killing the player. The initial fear of dying is what motivates the player not to get caught by the monster, but after going through it over and over, you eventually stop being scared. Constantly waiting for something to eventually happen to you but never actually fulfilling that fearful anticipation keeps you edge throughout the experience, instead of constantly having the game’s tension interrupted by a repetitive jumpscare after making a mistake. It also forces the player to have to be completely immersed in the dark during certain segments, keeping you from using the light to become comfortable with the environment. I love this game just watching Mark play it.
  • Mark: gets a flashlight "Ah, finally!" Mark, using it: "Oh, it's worse."
  • @2NULL5
Mark doesnt scream cause hes scared, he screams to assert dominace

23:18 thats a jumpscare done right, no dramatic loud sound effect, just something you wouldent expect at that moment.

it's the "shift to run" and "you can hide under the bed" without anything jumping out after that tip is the best thing this game's creator/s did.

The extremely rare moment where Mark doesn’t even say, “Hello everybody my name is Markiplier.”
  • @krampus9376
Mark trying to act nonchalant while simultaneously shitting his pants is golden
  • That instant recovery from the jumpscare at 23:25 had me dying of laughter. Just puts his headphones back on, makes some mouth noises and continues like nothing happened.
  • I like how the demon says "Get Out" but it locks the front door & won't let you leave 😭
  • Why do I feel that marks mentality when he plays horror games is just “first thing I think. I do. Consequences shmonsequences”
  • @raygant6731
I love how cramped it all is. The doors open in your way and you have to turn these hard corners...feels very claustrophic, it's super cool contrast from most horror games with the long hallways

There really is something extra spooky about turning around and seeing a giant decaying man quietly knelt down behind you and just looking at you. I don't get got by jump scares that much, but damn that gotted me good.
  • "I need 64 apartments" "dont we all" Mark, how many ovens would you have if you had 64 apartments?
  • This honestly has to the most horrifying play through of a game I’ve ever watched. Ive watched Mark play countless other horror games and been able to make it through with his humor, but this one, this one, puts some ungodly fear and overall uncomfortableness that makes it near impossible for me to watch. Just the overall darkness and I guess griminess of the atmosphere immediately activates my flight or fight instincts to just run and get away as fast as possible. Overall, 10/10, would never watch again or play myself out of fear of a heart attack, goodbye
