Hello, my friend!
Here is the final part of my project.
I converted the old dacha into a more comfortable and beautiful house.
I hope you like it)

  • SO grateful there’s no horrible music over this video, just birdsong and a man hard at work! Bliss!
  • Me sitting in bed next to a pile of empty soda cans with cheeto crumbs covering my shirt: "I could totally do that."
  • @kathymcmc
Seriously, there is nothing more satisfying than watching a man build with his hands.

There is nothing I admire more than someone building a house with their own hands and with these simple materials.

Seeing things for the first time: 1. Moss being used to fill gaps and as roof cover in construction. 10/10. 2. Creative use of a single log to make a unique staircase. 11/10. Needs improvement on the space for foot and angle of climb. 3. Dog used to measure time. 10/10.

Thank goodness you had your assistant there whole time to make sure everything was done right

The puppy did a great job overseeing as project manager haha
  • Terrific build video, but no one commented on what it must have taken to video record it all, and at a professional level no less. The pup-to-pooch shots were all perfectly timed that added another level of enjoyment - they were absolutely terrific! Great job on the rebirth of the cottage home, and many extra kudos for the perfect video capture - thanks.

I cannot love this enough, and I’m sure I will return to this remarkable video again and again. I’m truly obsessed with timber framing, hand tools and old-school joinery techniques. To see it all in a beautifully shot video instead of an old book was such a treat! Thank you so much for sharing your build with us. ❤

All built with no power tools. It is not only a strong home but also pleasing to the eye and kind on the environment. It blends in with nature. And you respectfully reused much of the original cabin. Beautiful work. Now you should rest and enjoy. Peace, blessings to you and your pup.

Here in Japan, when we remodeled out old house, they used shredded newspaper as an insulator in the walls. They said it was better than man-made insulation and would not be damp from humidity. Also that it would breathe: Releasing moisture when the room is dry, soaking up moisture when wet outside. I’m so happy to see all this nice old wood and new wood being used again to make a new home! Loved to see your doggie assistant “supervising & helping out”!

This is an amazing build. Love that you salvaged so much from the original cottage and incorporated it into the 2.0 version. You are very talented

The process of renovating the old house was so beautiful that I couldn't recognize the new house after completion. That's so great.
  • Yes I watch the growth of the puppy to, but I have to say, This Man is Amazing 👏 ❤️ 🙏✔️

This guy is an absolute genius. I love the way he designed the staircase, reused materials from the old house, used natural materials between the boards, and not once did I see him use a level. Loved his helper, the puppy. Video work was extraordinary. Where did this construction take place?

no fair! I wanted to see it finished inside! I hope there is a part 2.
  • @AlisonRuthless
There is something so soothing & calming about watching this. It's so normal, so logical in a world that often & increasingly isn't.

I have waisted so much time watching videos but this one was amazing. A glimpse into what it must have been like building a shelter in early America or early anywhere in a woodsy area. Kudos to the videographer(s) and editors !
