CHILDHOOD RUINED

Published 2014-04-07
A song about how naive we used to be. It's time to learn more about The Little Mermaid, The Land Before Time, Peter Pan, James and the Giant Peach, Alice in Wonderland, The Giving Tree, E.T., Milo and Otis, and Ferris Bueller. You can't go back.

This song seems kinda gloomy, let's balance it out. Did you know David Hasselhoff appeared in The Spongebob Movie for free because his daughter was a huge fan of the cartoon.

My childhood is not sufficiently ruined. I require a sequel.
  • When I was 6 years old, I watched this and showed it to my mom. I remember she was in shock

I am German. We grow up with the original Stories. Nothing to ruin.

"E.T was played by a kid born with no legs" If you're a really negative person, I guess that could ruin your childhood.
  • @Jaceblue04
My childhood was ruined as soon as I discovered the internet :P
  • I just read the "pornographic" Shel Silverstein poems that were featured in Playboy. They're pretty tame (unless I missed some). They reference sex, but they aren't pornographic by any stretch

Jokes on you, I was a child when this came out, (10 to be exact, now I'm in uni, crazy how time works) so since I was so young I didn't get any of the references, or any of those big words like "murdered" or "sex-offender", so this sufficiently failed to ruin my childhood

Can't really ruin a childhood that was already ruined from the start.

This has the same kind of feeling as “Welcome to the Internet”

It sucks that a lot of people who make things for kids aren’t always great, and there are tragedies around some productions. But that doesn’t take away the love and joy you got from the media! And yes, I’m aware it’s a joke :P

The Adventures of Milo and Otis" was also looked upon controversially, based on reports of animal abuse while it was being filmed. According to a 1990 Australian newspaper report, more than 20 kittens were killed during its production and one cat's paw was intentionally broken to make it look unsteady when walking.

Idk if anyone remembers that point in their life, but there was a time were some of us didn't know that wars exist, or that meat comes from animals. We take this at a given, but there had to be a point where we learned it the first time. I can remember both things, and how shocked i was. Like, wars? I thought they were things from the past or out of movie, and didn't exist anymore. To realize that there is always a war on earth, - or mostly multiple ones - was quite something. I think that was the time my childhood was ruined. All those things above can't really compare to the existance of mass scale murder and invasion. Also the moment i realized that people in other countries had no food was very traumatic too. I porbably learned all that with age 3? Nothing can shock me since then. (:

Omg, the only thing that actually ruined my childhood was hearing that during Milo and Otis a bunch of dogs died.
  • @ssybayob
anybody else watched this DURING their childhood, only to come back again years later wanting to cry??
  • @GrimLee423
i watched milo and otis every single day when i was under 5 years old, when i found out what happened on the production(i found out this year) i cried
  • If I learned about these when I was a literal kid, it definitely would’ve ruined me. But nothing is ruined.
