I've been here almost one year and it is as safe as any city can be. No muggings, strong arm robberies or major crime whatsoever. Thailand (Buddha culture) is completely different from Western disrespect which is the main reason I left the US.

I'm a native Thai, now living in Bangkok. I had been in Pattaya for 6 full years, the city is fascinating with mixed cultures and safe that anyone can stay there. Love my time there a lot.

Yes there is a light life option in Pattaya but there are lots of other things to do too. There is an amazing beach, santuary of truth, buddah statues, golfing, sea doo, boating, there is a 10 km bicycle track that you can rent bicycles, amazing night markets, dance clubs, billiards, beer bars, world class shopping centers, and yes the other thing. But I lived in Pattaya for 4 years teaching English. I love it there and it drives me insane when people think of Pattaya and think of only the obvious thing you mentioned before, I am glad you decided to give it a chance and if you ask anyone living there they could tell you a lot of amazing places.

You know, the owner of Nong Nooch Tropical Garden had won the garden competition in RHS Chelsea Flower Show for many years. Pattaya is in Chonburi which is the big city. You can have many activities here. Not just only weed, a-g-go, night life, beaches, islands and sea but also temples, national zoo, biking in the nature along the road at Bang Phra Reservoir, etc. So, you have seen many dinosaurs at garden because there are the place for families and kids as well.

Every city or town in the world is what YOU want to make of it! Glad you enjoyed Pattaya 👍

Pattaya is a fabulous place, and i say this as a family man
  • Also worth to visit is Jomtien, village next to Pattaya. We stayed there and found great food markets, nice beach and it is much quieter 👍 And I recommend going to see a really great temple of Big Buddha near the Pattaya sign 👍
  • Never thought Thailand could get better. Then it went green. I love that you embrace and share that with us.
  • @Julietnboyd1
Loved seeing the ins and outs of various places with you two. Very informative!

Nice to see you guys back in Thailand. Enjoy your adventures! Cheers!
  • So I assumed you were staying at an Airbnb and the owner rented out which normally for long term leases hence property is private for residence only. That's why the security has been asked to check everyone coming in.
  • I really respect the fact that you two tried durian. You can’t say that you don’t like it until you try it. Bravo.
  • @inThailand1987
First of all, thank you on behalf of all Thai krub. Anyway don't expect too much from us. We are just a small and humble country. Not a "Big Guys" with lots of power hard or soft in the world. We have -- good and bad things, also good and bad people like every places. Expecting too much might leads to disappointment when things don't turn out as good as we expected although they might be OK in their own way.🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
  • @dianaludwig925
Hey guys! Fabulous video! I totally laughed out loud when you tried the Durian fruit. It reminded me of another you tube couple that tried it and had basically the same reaction, although they didn't try the dried version! Wishing you both the best! Take care.
  • My husband and I were in Pattaya City a year ago. My son and daughter in law live there. My daughter in law is Thai. We stay in Pattaya City for a week. We felt it was very safe. Yes, they have a lot of bars but we didn’t go in everyone. We are not that type of people. So don’t listen to everybody. Enjoy yourselves.

I always stay in jomtien. Walking distance from pattaya but much more relaxed.
