Godrick the Grafted, also known as Godrick the Golden, is the first major boss most players will find in Elden Ring. So, it's time to dig into the story and lore of Godrick. How much his golden linage from Godfrey the First Elden Lord affects his ego, and the seeming inferiority complex he develops compared to the likes of other great demigods like Marika, Radahn, Rykard, and Ranni. This is the tale and lore of Godrick the Grafted.

Let’s discuss the first major boss of Elden Ring. A demigod and lord who despite his status, was laughed at behind his back, but would yearn for approval. Today, we’ll discuss Godrick the Grafted and Stormveil Castle.

  • Whoa! I love the idea Thad Godrick would put a grafted scion at the beginning of the game because he knows he has to stop you and that you’re coming for him.

When I heard ''Murica helped the Erd tree by sending Godfrey to slay the giants.'' My first thoughts were: Is the USA actual lore in this universe???

Hey Dave! Great take! Even though there is a lot left to speculation I think you're on the right track. Thanks for being one of the only Lore Videos to look at the Golden Lineage as a Lineage, and not The Golden Nuclear Family, or the Golden Brady bunch. I think you nailed it: Godfrey-Godwyn-Godefroy-Godrick (and I think its probably likely nobody other than family was ever made aware of Morgott until he emerged to defend the Erdtree after the shattering, and likely very few people know of Mohg). That being said, major speculation, but since Godrick very literally had a seat at the table, its hard to say when Godefroy would have started grafting, or attacked the capitol, but I just think it highly unlikely that he was a brother of Godrick moreso the Heir before Godrick. Once imprisoned, Godrick, no matter how undesireable or undeserving was the next in line, and that's the only reason he ever made it to the Capitol to begin with. Looking forward to your thoughts on Godwyn!

Gostoc is missing his left arm, and that could've been used for grafting to godrick or the scions, which explains his hatred for him. But godrick wants only the most worthy and powerful to be grafted to him, which gostoc is anything but that. The same goes for the scions but to a lesser extent. Like no commoner would be grafted to a scion. Either gostoc's missing arm is unrelated, which I doubt, or gostoc could be hiding something.

I'm sure this has been mentioned but Godrick did not send the Knight to take Fort Haight, nor slay the demi human queen to cause the uprising. Mogh did. It's hinted at by the description of the ash of war the knight uses. The Roses. And the ghost not far from the fort.

Something that I notice a out Godrick is that he never took part in Dragon Communion. Just imagine e if he became a Magma Wyrm with Grafted parts
