Very fascinating, I don't play flute, so I'm not sure why am I watching a flute review, but your playing is wonderful, and it's an interesting world for sure flutes are such beautiful instruments. 😊

I own three Ariel Louis headjoints: 1) A modern style olive wood or boxwood headjoint. 2) A Naust style bubinga wood headjoint with a circle cut embouchure hole. 3) A Rottenburgh style cocobolo wood headjoint with a slightly oval embouchure hole. I bought them off eBay a couple of years ago at a steal price, when he was still a relatively unknown name and in the process of trying to promote his products to a wider audience. Today those three headjoints cost around $1700, each. So I got lucky. 🙂

Hi, I am watching your learn to play the ocarina playlist and you always suggest the stl ocarinas but I can’t get those because I live in the uk so the delivery fee is huge and it would take up to two months to get here. Do you have any ocarinas that you would recommend that I would be able to get here?

Prefer the Rottenburgh for the Bach. I have both a Rottenburgh and a Palanca traverso from Ariel Louis. The Rottenburgh has both 415 and 440 cours de rechange upper middle joints. The 415 is darker, and sounds wonderful for slow baroque movements; the 440 is more nimble, both in ease of tone articulation and with the spacing for my small hands in fingering. Where I live, in the Austin, TX, area, 440 instruments are more viable for ensemble work. I digress - sorry.
