A controversial RCMP unit in B.C. acts as a de facto private security force for resource companies, and not for public safety, according to critics and many Indigenous communities. The Fifth Estate’s Steven D'Souza uncovers leaked documents that show how industry leaders influenced RCMP bosses who are part of the Community-Industry Response Group (C-IRG).

Why are the police allowed to remove their ID numbers and name badges? Why isn't that a federal crime? And why didn't the reporter ask that question of the police chief?
  • The RCMP has always been used to protect economic & political interests of the state and rich friends of politicians.
  • @snakeplissken571
And the rcmp can't figure out why more and more communities want them replaced.

Very interesting to know the RCMP is no different than the Gestapo.

I have experienced the RCMP violence while protecting Indigenous lands. The violence is systematic and intentional. I can’t imagine what that officer who left experienced behind closed doors when the RCMP “inquired” into his allegations. And cops wonder why people hate them.

Just remember... this all happened under Trudeau. So much for reconciliation. So much for a just society.

Is everyone losing their minds??!! My dad was an RCMP member for 30 years. He would never let me or my brother follow in his footsteps.

Between this and the trucker convoy, it is no wonder that people want the R.C.M.P. disbanded...

When special units are created within a police force, their only purpose is to impose the will of the powers that be despite the law. The main feature is lack of oversight or control.

Nothing new under the sun. Money is power, so the poor are powerless. Nothing new under the sun.

Greed and selfishness is the root cause of 99% of the problems we face today. If we don't smarten up, it's going to take us all down. Not my opinion just fact. Is what it is.

" Community/ industry response group " That's what the police do. Protect the rich and powerful!!
  • i have seen the brutality first hand. this is just scratching the surface, but im glad its being exposed because the RCMPs actions in these spaces are truly deplorable.

Why are the corporations not apart of this country? This is about selling off Canada. 😡
  • @tessremoc576
This is shameful and no members of any police agency should participate in such horrible actions.
