The fact that this is based on a true story is crazy.

Kept expecting Larry to not be the killer but rather his brother or father and he was covering for them.

That's crazy man. I was just watching a tiktok on old people dying and a lot of them confessing on murdering someone back in their day and getting away with but feeling to guilty to die with that on their plate thinking they won't go to heaven. That's just nuts how many people actually get away with murder.

I mean James was a kingsman so it was smart to choose him for the mission

Moral of the story is not true. Many, many crimes go unpunshed.

I know this is a movie, but this is why you NEVER plea guilty until you have a written bargain. At that point, if the judge deviates even slightly, you can withdraw your plea.

THE TRUE STORY:  Jimmy Keene was a promising young football star and the son of a police officer. He fell from grace after being caught up in a huge drug bust in the '90s called Operation Snowplow. During the bust, police found illegal firearms on Keene’s property, and he, therefore, got given a 10-year sentence in prison. While serving his sentence Keene was approached by the FBI, and in 1998, he was given a choice; serve his full sentence or try to befriend the alleged serial killer — Larry Hall — in a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane. If he was to be successful with the second choice he would be offered his freedom.James Keene went for the second option. The James Keene Black Bird story is an adaptation of the many months the real-life Jimmy Keene spent gaining Larry Hall’s trust. The real James Keene was somewhat successful on two counts. Firstly, Larry Hall confessed to James Keene about the murder of Jessica Roach, with Hall revealing details only the FBI and the killer would know. Secondly, Keene found Larry Hall with a map identifying several locations. Just like the James Keene Black Bird character, the real-life FBI informant surmised the map led to additional bodies. It unfortunately came to nothing, as Keene confronted Hall and was thrown into solitary confinement. The FBI never got his message and after his release from solitary, the map was gone.Despite recanting his confession for the murder of Jessica Roach in both the Black Bird show true story and in real life, and appealing his initial sentence, Larry Hall’s story was too accurate. After the Larry Hall Black Bird story concluded, his real-life counterpart went on to be found guilty and given life without parole. However, he wasn’t convicted for murder — only kidnapping. The fact that the kidnapping led to a death is the only reason Larry Hall’s sentence ended up being life without parole.Larry Hall is now 59 and serving his sentence in Butner, North Carolina. In the years following his interaction with James Keene, Hall confessed to several other murders, including that of Tricia Reitler. However, he has also recanted every single one of his confessions, and it remains a mystery to this day how many people Larry Hall killed. The FBI has estimated that it could be as many as 40 young women, an element of the Black Bird true story that wasn't really delved into much by the show

Police found this guy's van at different murder spots, found gloves, poster and contraceptive pill packet of a murdered girl in this guy's van and many other evidence but the judge let the guy go due to insufficient evidence...what the hell is that😂...this guy is just coincidentally meeting girls who die after meeting him.

This recap does not do true justice to how good this show is. I think it has an IMDb score of 8 and is very psychologically intense.
